G.O.A.T

TGIF all!

Yes I’m proclaiming these Eloquii floral pants to the greatest of all time (i.e. G.O.A.T).  Not only are they comfortable as hell, they look good on every body and shape (trust me they do). You can wear them to work, date night or any night.  My only issue with them is that Eloquii didn’t make them in a variety of colors and prints.  If they had, my wallet would be in deeper trouble than it already is! LOL

Have a great weekend!

Spring Layers

TGIF all!

While Spring has sprung, the weather outside isn’t warm enough to ditch my tights just yet.  Until it’s warm enough to go bare legged , I’m going to layer my  jeans/pants over my cute Spring dresses.  It’s actually a win-win for me because when the temps go up, I can just take off the pants!   I’ve been a huge fan of wearing dresses over pants since Summer 2014 . At first I was skeptical the trend would work on my body but I was pleasantly surprised when it did.   I think it’s a fun way to rework your wardrobe and add new life to your closet staples.

If you’re thinking on trying this trend, here are some tips on how to wear a dress over jeans/ pants:

  1. Any dress will do: Add jeans/pants to a dress in your closet that has gotten short over the years.  Layer a pair of skinny jeans under a shirt dress to breathe new life into it.
  2. Straight, cropped and skinny leg jeans/pants are best to layer under your dress.  It balances out your proportions and stops you from looking frumpy.
  3. Add height: any heel whether its a  kitten or stiletto will add length to  streamline your look.

Have a wonderful weekend!

5 Ways to Practice Self Care This Holiday Season

Happy Monday all!

It’s easy during the busy holiday season to get so caught up we neglect to take care of ourselves.  While the is focus of the season is doing for others, we should make sure we do for ourselves.  Here are five tips on how to practice self care during the holiday season:

  1. Just Say “No”: It’s okay to say “no” during the holidays. It doesn’t mean you’re a Grinch or lack holiday spirit, it means you know your limits.  So if someone asks you to bake 100 cupcakes for a Christmas party and you don’t have the time, just  say no. Santa will completely understand!
  2. Treat Yo Self: Make sure your holiday budget allows room for you to get yourself a special item.  No matter how big or small it is, you deserve it!
  3. Get Your Sleep: The holidays are not the time to skimp on your sleep.  If your body requires 7-8 hours worth of sleep, do it. Getting a good nights sleep not only benefits you but your loved ones as you won’t be so quick to bite their heads off!
  4. Don’t Wait Til The Last Minute: Don’t be a masochist and wait until Christmas Eve to decide to do all your holiday shopping.  Schedule specific days to get your shopping done.  I find that shopping after work Monday through Wednesday a breeze because the stores and malls are less crowded than on the weekend.  This way you can get all your shopping done with no hassles!
  5. Ask For Help: You are not a machine so stop thinking you can to do it all.  Everyone needs help from time to time and there is nothing wrong with asking for assistance.  Getting others to help out reduces stress and makes for a happier you!

Remember you are just as important as your loved ones this holiday season. The holidays are meant to be enjoyed, not dreaded.  So put a bright outfit (like I have on below), take care of yourself and enjoy the  holiday season!

Sweater Obsessed

Happy Tuesday all!

Over the weekend I had to finally admit that I am obsessed with sweaters.  As soon has the air gets  chilly, I’m pulling out the sweaters.  Every Fall I get seduced by  new sweater styles and colors.  While turtlenecks are my weakness, I have a special place in my heart for cardigans, especially long ones that cover my booty.  That’s why I love this Melissa McCarthy Seven7 double breasted cardigan so much.  Not only does it keep me warm in my chilly office, it looks great with pretty much everything I own. It’s roomy enough to layer a light sweater under it during the Winter for extra warmth.

If you don’t own a long cardigan, I highly recommend getting one to keep yourself warm and cute during the colder months.

Have a good day!

Fall Love With Lane Bryant

Happy Tuesday all!

Next to Spring, Fall is one of my favorite seasons.  I love the crisp mornings,  warm afternoons and scenic drives through the Fall foliage.  Along with the new season, is the arrival of Lane Bryant’s Fall collection. Lane Bryant has been a mainstay in my wardrobe since I was a teenager.  I can always depend on Lane Bryant to provide well made and sustainable professional clothes that are perfect for the season.   This season they’ve added more color and fun prints to their professional offerings.  The midi pencil skirt I’m wearing comes in bright colors and an exposed zipper in the back. If you’re not a the pencil skirt fan, they offer the same colors in a full skirt option too.  The boyfriend chinos I’m wearing in the second set of pictures are really  great fitting pants.  The chinos are relaxed through the hip and thigh then taper around the ankle.  They come in a variety of colors ranging from salmon pink to black.  These are my first pair of “boyfriend” pants and I’m completely sold on them!

While Lane Bryant offers quality professional wear, they also have some really great casual pieces for the Fall too.  Below I’ve included some of my favorites from their new collection so check it out!

Have a wonderful day!
