Early Preview of Fall Must Haves

Happy Hump Day all!

I know it’s only July but some retailers are starting to debut their Fall collections. It seems that rich jewel tone colors will be one of the trends for the season. As a lover of all things color, this is wonderful news to me! Here are some of the items that are on my Fall “must have”  list.

What are some items the  “must have”  items on your list?

Have a wonderful day!

Casual Friday/Crop it Out

TGIF everybody!

Although skirts are my main staple during the summer, cropped pants are a close second. I got these Talbot Woman cropped pants for around $8 during one of their online sales. I’ve worn these pants a few times already and they are so comfy! The color is more of a celery than a mint green, which is alright by me. I would definitely recommend you check Talbots Woman out. I continued my affair with all things peplum by wearing my ASOS top and adding my chunky jade necklace.

What are your main summer staples? Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Casual Friday/Much Ado About Nothing

“Be intent upon the perfection of the present day.”

I was in a funky mood when I arrived to work this morning because the roof of my house is leaking (which I thought I had fixed) and has caused some minor damage to my guest room. I was bitching about the cost of repairs, the price of home ownership, yadda, yadda, yadda until my co-worker told me about the massacre in Colorado. Hearing what happened instantly shut me up. It reminded me how fragile life is and how much we take it for granted. So while my leaky roof is a pain, I’ll deal with it and be grateful for the life that God has given me.

My prayers and thoughts are with the with the victim’s and their families of this tragedy.

Perfectly Pleated…Again!

Happy Hump Day all!

Since I’ve gotten over my hang up with pleats, I had to have this orange midi skirt from City Chic. This is my first purchase from City Chic and the skirt doesn’t disappoint. Online the skirt appears light orange but its darker in person. It fits true to size so there was no gap in the waist for me. It’s lined so it isn’t sheer or see through. The skirt is a good way to introduce color into your work wardrobe. . You can also transition it into the fall by wearing a cardigan or a v neck sweater with it .

I shopped my closet and found this Gap Outlet shirt that I had forgotten about (I know that’s bad!). The shirt has flecks of orange in it which goes well with the skirt. I added my yellow necklace because for some reason it works with the outfit. Plus I love this necklace and will use any excuse to wear it!

How would you wear a colored pleated skirt? Have a great evening!
