OOTD Courtesy of Glamour!

TGIF everybody! I can’t wait to get out this weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather. Do you have any plans for the warm weekend?

Last night while watching “Scandal” (which is AWESOME!!!) I was flipping through the May issue of Glamour when I came upon their “Month of Outfits” feature. In the feature one of models was wearing a sweater and belt over her dress. I thought to myself “I should do that!” I’ve been wanting to wear my floral maxi dress but its been too cool to comfortably wear it. I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to wear the dress with my purple 3/4 length sweater over it. I belted the sweater to define my waist and added my chunky necklace to go with the green in my skirt.

Would you try this? Have a great weekend!

Chasing the Clouds Away

Happy Hump Day everyone! How is your week going so far? Mine hasn’t been too bad. I’m looking forward to the weekend and the gorgeous weather that has been predicted.

For the past couple of days, its been looking and feeling like late Fall here in Philly. The cloudy and cold weather was kinda getting me down, so I decided to wear something bright and colorful today. After searching my closet I came up with this outfit. I had bought the pants a few months ago from Nordstroms but I shelved them because they were too big in the waist which was causing the crotch to droop (which wasn’t very attractive!). After weeks of procrastinating (ok months!), I finally took the pants to the tailor to have them fixed. The crotch still droops a little but its an improvement from what it used to look like. I added my blue blazer (best purchase I made this year!) and my yellow blouse to achieve my look. I added gold accessories to compliment the yellow blouse and red pants. I think I did a pretty good job brightening up my day with my outfit!

What do you wear to chase the clouds away? Have a great evening!

OOTD/The Girls are Alright

Hope everyone is enjoying their Good Friday and preparing for the Easter weekend.

Since I was off today, I needed to hit the mall to return some items. Instead of putting on my usual jean and sweater combo, I decided to dress it up a little. I paired my yellow t-shirt with my black and white striped blazer and my black skinny jeans. I added my Jeffrey Campbell wedges to the outfit. Although these wedges are sky high (over 5 inches) they are very comfortable. I think I was successful in dressing up my day off outfit.

Underneath my shirt I’m wearing my brand new Elomi bra that I ordered at the Bare Necessities booth at NJFFW. The bra is the Herminone Spacer Underwire Bra in charcoal. Honestly its the best fitting bra I’ve ever owned. The bra is comfortable and extremely supportive. The support lasts you all day. Not once today did I have to adjust the bra to stop my breasts from drooping due to lack of support. The straps did not dig into my shoulders like the bras that was wearing (Isis from Bare Necessities told me the band should support your breasts, not the straps). There is no bulging under my arms and no spillage over the cups. It’s a pretty bra with lace detailing on the sides. If you are looking for a good supportive bra, definitely give Elomi a try.

Have a Happy Easter!!!

Orange Crush

Happy Hump Day everyone! Two more days til the weekend!

Yesterday I was browsing through my local H&M and I noticed it carried the H&M+ line. After walking around in the section for about 15 minutes I wasnt impressed with the collection at all. It had all the typical colors (black & white) and nothing remotely trendy. I was about to turn to leave when a rack of chinos caught my eye. The rack had navy blue chinos (of course!) and ORANGE?! I blinked twice because its rare to see orange pants for plus size women hanging on a rack. I immediately grabbed the largest size (24) because I know H&M pants run small and I knew I wouldnt be able to get into a size 20 pant. I’m so glad I got the 24 because they fit comfortably and aren’t snug or tight. The waist was too big but it was nothing a belt couldn’t solve. I love the melon orange color of the pants. It’s not too bright or too light. It’s a perfect color to match with prints and pastels. I paired the slacks with my orange print tie neck blouse that I had buried in my drawer. I added my bright blue blazer to for a pop of color. I am very satisfied with my first H&M+ purchase.

Have you checked out the H&M+ collection yet? Have a great evening!!!
