Dear Santa…

Happy Monday all!

My 8-year-old goddaughter still believes in Santa Claus (she told me so over dinner two weeks ago) so that got me to thinking…what if Santa was real? I’ve been a little naughty this year but overall I was  a good girl so  here’s my Christmas Wish list!

Santa this vibrant Coach tote would make me smile everyday and not be a Grinch when its cold outside! Plus its roomy enough  to carry  all my Christmas gifts! (okay I know that’s laying it on a little thick Santa).

Santa  I NEED this coat like yesterday! The color is vibrant and  a great alternative to my old black coat.   Santa can’t you see me wearing my yellow Coach tote with this coat?! OMG!

What girl doesn’t like a little sparkle Santa?! This necklace is gorgeous! P.S. Tell Mrs. Claus to keep her paws off!

Santa you know how much I love a great black and white print!  This blouse would be perfect with my leather pencil skirt or red trousers.  I expect this number under the Christmas tree or no cookies for you!

Whats on your Christmas Wish list?

Have a wonderful day!

My Style Inspiration: Stylish Curves

Happy Hump Day all! Hope everyone is getting ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow!  I’m headed to NYC  later today to spend the holiday with my family.   We always have a great time together so I’m really  looking forward to hanging out with them.

Today I’m featuring one of my favorite bloggers  Alissa from Stylish Curves.  I discovered Stylish Curves browsing through the internet while  out on FMLA last year.  Alissa’s blog opened up a world of plus size retailers  that I didn’t even know existed.  I instantly became a fan of her “Style Journey” posts featuring her in  fabulous clothes.  Prior to discovering her blog, I didn’t think plus size women could dress fashionably.  Alissa totally crushed that belief and Ive been a loyal follower since.

Alissa  is also a staunch advocate for plus size women within the fashion industry.  Recently she was on Good Morning America discussing  how plus sized women are perceived and overlooked in fashion. Alissa wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and voiced many sentiments we  feel about the industry. Her presence on GMA was important because it contradicts many stereotypes that continue to exist.  Alissa was beautiful,  poised and confident, something many people don’t see plus size women as.  This is why she  is my style inspiration!

Please show Alissa some love and check out her blog Stylish Curves!

Have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!

Casual Friday/Remember the Tights!

TGIF everybody!

The last time that I could remember wearing  colored tights is when   I was 10 years old.  My family had gone to the Poconos with members of our church congregation for a weekend getaway.   Dinner that Saturday night was at a fancy restaurant so my mom had to dress us up.   I remember  wearing  a red dress with white tights and shiny patent leather shoes.  My mom had pulled my hair up into a ponytail and topped it off with a red bow.  I remember feeling so pretty and a little grown up because my shoes had a slight wedge  which I thought were high heels!  Dressing up that  night was one of the highlights of that trip which has always stuck with me.

Honestly I can’t point to one reason why I  stopped wearing colored tights.  Maybe I  told myself I could only wear black or brown tights.  Maybe I felt my legs were too big for colored tights.  Either way as you can see, I no longer feel that way!

Would you wear colored tights? If so, what color?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Summer Hold Over

Happy Monday all! Hope you had a great weekend and turned those clocks back!

Like almost everybody I try to the get the most wear out of my clothing. Some of myclothes are interchangeable from season to season like this Adrianna Papell dress I’m wearing today. I first wore it in the Spring but always felt that the dress was more for the Fall. So when the weather cooled down I couldn’t wait to slap on some black tights and ankle boots with this dress. Instead of a black cardigan or blazer I opted for my faux leather Kohl’s jacket. As you can see I’m getting ALOT of usage out this jacket! Honestly I wear it about 3 times a week. The jacket has been my go to  instead of wearing a black blazer or cardigan. I like how it adds just a little edge to my outfit.

How do you get the most wear out of your clothes?

Have a great evening!

Casual Friday/Offering a Helping Hand

TGIF all!

What a week!  Unfortunately my family in the Bronx are still without power.  It’s  hard to watch them struggle  but they are extremely grateful to be alive and have a roof over their heads.  So many people in my home state of  New York and New Jersey are suffering terribly tonight and need our help.  The American Red Cross is accepting donations to help the millions of  Hurricane Sandy victims.  Your contribution may be small but it does make a difference.

With that said, I needed a punch of color to brighten my mood today.  This Sean Anthony Designs fuchsia ruffle blouse definitely does the trick.  I wanted the blouse to be the focus of attention, so I paired it with my coated black INC blazer and printed Eloquii ankle pants.

Have a wonderful weekend!

*Disclaimer: I am not affiliated or a member of the Red Cross. I was not asked by the Red Cross to solicit  donations.
