Casual Friday: Now and Later

TGIF all!

Since Fall is less than a month away (YAY!),  Ive been  starting to think of  the transitional pieces in my closet.  For me a button up shirt is one of the best transitional pieces I own.  They can be worn alone with the sleeves rolled up or layered under jackets and sweaters.  As with any new season a bunch of trends have popped up.  Plaid has been crowned one of the seasons  newest and I’m excited to try it.    Since I’m new to plaid  I kept  it simple and  went with a button down shirt.  Keeping with my love of colors, I picked a plaid combo with colors I love. So heres my take on plaid for now and later!

What are some transitional pieces in your wardrobe?

Have a great weekend!

Accentuate the Positive

Happy Hump Day all!

I woke up feeling pretty crummy this morning. Lately I’ve been having some personal issues that have been overshadowing the good things in my life. It’s amazing how when one small thing goes wrong it can throw you off balance. Instead of using my outfit make me feel better I decided to focus on the great things in my life. I’m blessed to have  relatively good health, a roof over my head and a wonderful support system of family and friends. My self-esteem is the highest it’s ever been and I’m constantly growing as a person. While there are things I wish were different in my life, I can’t dwell on them. So today I’m making an effort to not focus on the negative and concentrate on the positive. Honestly it’s hard to do but I’m definitely on my way to changing my crummy mood.

How do you overcome a crummy mood?

Have a wonderful day!

All Mixed Up

Happy Hump Day all!

I’ve been PMSing the last couple of days so I’ve been making myself feel better by continuing to get dressed  up for work. Dressing up  is the last thing I wanna do because I feel frumpy and unattractive during this time.  If I could get away wearing a potato sack with flip-flops I would. And on top of  that I start crying over the silliest things.  I swear on Sunday night I started  tearing up watching a GEICO commercial!   PMS sucks!

I’m including Monday’s OOTD in this post because I wasnt able to post then due to problems with my Internet connection at home.

How do you cope with PMS?

Have a great day!

Getting Accustomed

Happy Hump Day all!

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a pretty dress so when I saw this on eShakti’s website I had to have it.  This is my second custom made dress from eShakti.  While my first custom dress fit  fine,  when I ordered this dress I  made my bust measurements bigger  because I didn’t want  that area to be tight.  Unfortunately making it bigger caused the top to gape therefore  exposing the undersides of my bra.   Since I didn’t want to send the dress back I had my tailor fix it.  I don’t fault eShakti for this because they were  going by the measurements I provided.   It’s important to make sure your measurements are correct to ensure a better fit.  You can either get someone to measure you or have your tailor do it (if you feel comfortable doing so).  I know the next time I’m gonna leave my measurements alone!

I definitely recommend giving eShakti a try.  They offer size 0-36 in ALL their dresses (they also have tops, jackets and skirts too!).   You can opt to have the dress of your choice custom made to your measurements for a mere $7.50. Also depending on the dress you can add sleeves, change the length of the dress or remove extras like pockets.  It’s an all-inclusive retailer which frankly more need to be like.   And to make things easier, if  you use my referral code GCN22879 you’ll  get $40 off your first eShakti order!  Sweet!

Have a wonderful day!
