Spring has Sprung!

Happy Hump Day everybody! Since the weather has been AMAZING my spirits have totally lifted. It feels wonderful to walk in the sun without shivering from the cold or worrying about snow storms.

Spring is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it from the warm breezes to the blooming flowers. Spring is about transformation of my style from Winter to Spring. This Spring I’m focused on patterns and ruffles to show my girly side. What better way to demonstrate that by wearing Eloquii’s polka dot ruffle dress! I think it’s the perfect feminine dress to usher in my new Spring wardrobe. It’s pretty, fun and flirty. It’s a dress you can wear anywhere and feel comfortable. You can add different colored belts to make it pop. I added Eloquii’s red belt and a neon yellow twisted bead necklace to complement the dress.

What does Spring mean to you? Have a great day!!!

I Feel Pretty!

Happy Hump Day all! Hope your week is going well so far. Mine has been pretty uneventful but I’m not complaining!

While at Target yesterday, I bought the March issue of InStyle magazine. It was their Spring edition with all the trends for the season. One of the new trends is floral dresses, shirts, etc. As I was looking at the pictures of the pretty dresses I said to myself “Do I have any floral dresses?” Us big girls know about the love/hate relationship we have with floral patterns. I remember as a teenager HATING shopping because all the plus size clothing would have these large flowers on them. Who told the designer that putting a huge carnation on my bust would be flattering?!

Inspired by InStyle, I went into my closet and pulled out my floral Old Navy dress I bought back in December. I’m a sucker for anything with fluttered sleeves. It just looks so feminine and romantic to me. I love the mix of white, green, yellow and fuchsia in the floral print. The colors are vibrant but not too crazy that I can’t wear it to work. I put on my yellow cropped cardigan also from Old Navy to finish the outfit. The yellow cardigan goes perfectly with the dress and added more color.

Will you be following the floral trend this Spring?

Wrap it Up

Happy Hump Day all!!! Hope the week is going well for you so far! Its beginning to snow lightly here in Philadelphia. We’re forecasted to get less than a half an inch so I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

While in the office yesterday, the topic of body types came up. My co-worker (also my photographer..lol) Tamera was trying to determine what shape she was. After several minutes of intense debate and web searching, Tamera declared she was apple/straight/boy/rectangle shaped! With so many “types” out there, one can feel frustrated about how to dress their body. Along with these “types” there are “rules” that you are supposed to follow to flatter your “type”. For my “type” I’m supposed to only wear bootcut jeans but I own several pairs of straight & skinny jeans. I am a firm believer that you should wear what makes you feel comfortable. Find what looks good on YOU and wear it with confidence!

The one piece of clothing I think flatters everyone is the wrap dress. No matter what your “type” is, you will look great in one. Not are they only flattering, they are easy to put on. Try different colors and prints to liven up your wardrobe. Go ahead and show off those curves!!!
