Mellow Yellow

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Next to red, yellow is one of my favorite colors. It’s such a vibrant color that instantly brightens any outfit by wearing it . So when I saw this yellow pencil skirt from Eloquii I knew I had to add it to my closet. I didn’t want to wear a black shirt with the skirt (reminds me of a bumble bee! LOL) so I paired it with my floral print blouse from Dorothy Perkins. I think the colors in the blouse pop against my yellow skirt. I wanted to keep my promise to dress more colorfully and I think I’ve achieved that!

What do you like to pair yellow with? Have a great evening!

P.S. Special thanks to my BFF for taking my pics today (she threatened to get me if I didn’t give her a shout out! LOL)

Old Habits Begone!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you had a great weekend and enjoyed the fabulous weather!

This week I’m all about bold prints, stripes and color. Lately I’ve slipped back into my old habit of wearing dark colors. The problem with old habits is that they are very easy to return to. Old habits are so comfortable and familiar that before you know it you’re sucked back in. Making change and sticking with it can be a lot of work but as they say “no pain, no gain!” My outfit today is a commitment to change and breaking old habits.

How do you combat old habits? Have a great evening!

Saturday Fun

Happy Mothers Day everyone!!!

Since the weather was gorgeous yesterday, I spent the day hanging out with my godchildren Alex and Skylar. It’s been a blast watching them grow into sweet kids. They have me completely wrapped around their finger and I wouldn’t want it any other way!

Casual Friday/Two in One

TGIF everyone!!! Hope you have great plans for the weekend. The weather here in Philly is supposed to be beautiful so I plan to take advantage of it!

In keeping with my promise to dress more colorfully I pulled out my favorite printed maxi dress to wear today. I realized it was too summery to wear (the air is still chilly) and layering a shirt underneath it didn’t look good. While I was taking the dress off, I folded the top half of the dress down to create a skirt! I was quite impressed with my little DIY maxi skirt(wait, does this count as DIY? LOL). I paired my “skirt” with my white cowl neck shirt (seen here), brown belt and cobalt blue blazer. Since the skirt is really long, thong sandals wouldn’t do so I wore my new Kenneth Cole Reaction suede peep toe wedges (which are very comfy btw). To finish off my outfit I added my chunky two toned chain necklace.

Do you have any great DIY ideas to share? Have a wonderful weekend!

Rain, Rain Go Away

Happy Hump Day everybody!

What happened to Spring?! I was sure we would have warm, sunny days once it arrived but it seems Fall has set in! I wasn’t going to let the cold, rainy weather stop me from wearing my new dress. I stalked this Calvin Klein dress on Nordstrom’s website since January. The vibrant blue color and surplice neckline instantly caught my eye. When it finally went on sale for 50% off, I scooped it up immediately. I’m always looking for stylish work dresses and this definitely fits the bill!

Have a great evening!
