I would be remiss if I didn’t include my outfits I wore on my vacay. Since I’m committed to my 30 Day No Shopping Challenge, I didn’t buy anything for the trip. This was the first time I had to shop my closet for a vacation and not rely on buying new clothes. It felt good to pick out items I haven’t worn in months. Also this was the first time I didn’t over pack. I simply took what I needed which surprisingly fit into one small suitcase!

I believe that every woman should own a “feel good” dress. It’s a dress that instantly makes you feel like a million bucks when you put it on. A “feel good” dress is all about you embracing your body and feeling comfortable in your skin. I own a few of these dresses and I’m happy to add IGIGI’s Nicolette Peplum dress to my collection. Now that Fall is here, it’s natural to want to add an item or two your current wardrobe. Adding affordable pieces allows you to stay within your budget and update your selection. Walmart’s studded boucle jacket can be dressed up with a skirt or down with jeans and ankle boots. The jacket can easily become a staple in your wardrobe and be worn again and again. As you have probably seen in the latest fashion magazines, leather motorcycle jackets are on trend for Fall. It’s funny how old standbys suddenly become a trend. I mean when has leather NOT been appropriate for Fall and Winter? I bet if you think about it, you’ve been rocking leather since you were a kid! In college I saved enough money from my part-time job to finally get a leather jacket. I remember instantly feeling like a bad ass when I slipped it on. I would strut across campus to class in my jacket. I wore that poor thing until it was coming apart at the seams! Since then I havent come across a jacket that made me feel that way until now. This ASOS Curve moto jacket (which I’ve been eyeing since last year) makes me feel cool and edgy (something plus size women 40+ are not supposed to feel!). The jacket is very soft not stiff so you don’t feel constricted. It’s roomy enough that I can wear layers underneath once the temperature start to drop. I plan on wearing it with everything because there is nothing more versatile than a black leather jacket. I couldn’t wait until our mini heat wave ended yesterday so I could wear it today!

The saying “if aint broke don’t try to fix it” is my motto when it comes to clothes. If I like something and it looks good on me I’m gonna keep wearing it. From time to time I like to shake things up but I always rely on my wardrobe staples. Maxi dresses are one of my staple pieces especially during the summer. I’m definitely a repeat offender when it comes to maxi dresses because I wear them ALL THE TIME. Maxi dresses makes it easy for me to stay cool and stylish during those hot, sweltering Summer days. During the cooler months I transition them over by wearing them with a jacket or blazer (I also wear a pullover sweater over my maxi & belt it at the waist). Plus (in my opinion) they flatter ALL body types…YES!
