An Evening with MYNT 1792

Happy Monday all!

On Friday I was invited by PLUS Model Magazine and Mynt 1792 to view their Fall 2012 collection. To have the opportunity to see their new collection was too tempting to pass up! Plus size women want a plethora of choices for clothing. We don’t want to be confined by having only a select few brands. That is why I was so excited to be invited to this event!

Mynt 1792 knows what the curvy consumer wants and isn’t afraid to give it to us.    I was very impressed with the selection of clothing that was shown.  The collection is very much on trend but it is versatile to meet the consumers lifestyle.  Many of the items were transitional (able to wear to work or out with friends). I was also impressed with the quality of material used for the clothing.  We curvy women know all too well about poorly and cheaply made clothing.  Mynt 1792 cares about giving us quality fabrics that will allow longevity of the item.  If I’m spending over a $100 for a blazer or jacket, I need to know I can wear if for several years to come, not just one season.  Mynt 1792 gets this and it was evident in their designs.

I had the pleasure of attending the event with Corrinn of The Fuller Figure and Colleen of Short Curvy Fierce. Not only are these ladies stylish and beautiful, they are SO fun to be around! Corrinn and Colleen kept me in stitches all night long! All the photos in this post were wonderfully taken by Corrinn. As you can see, she is a natural with the camera! Also present was my Chicago blogger buddy Jaye of Curvatude. I love talking and hanging out with her! She is one of the sweetest people I know!  I bumped into Yve who was apart of the Fashion Night Out event I participated here in Philly. It was great catching up with her and seeing her wonderful smile!

Mynt 1792 Fall Collection will be available online at mynt1792.com and Nordstrom (online only) starting October 1st. Please check them out, trust me you will like what you see!

Have a wonderful day!

Casual Friday/White Out

TGIF!

If you havent noticed yet, its BLAZING hot outside! Dressing for work during a heat wave can be challenging . Its been said that wearing light colors keeps you cool because it doesn’t absorb heat. With that in mind, what better color to wear in this massive heat wave but ALL WHITE!

I paired my white trouser jeans from Talbots Woman with my cowl neck H&M tee. I wore wedges to keep the hem of my pants from dragging on the pavement. I added my new multicolored beaded Old Navy necklace for some color ( I can’t go without color!). When I got to work, I wore my denim blazer to keep with the casual Friday dress code.

How are you keeping cool while dressing for work?

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Casual Friday/More Tuxedo Love!

TGIF everybody!!!

My outfit today combines two of my favorite clothing items…my white tuxedo jacket and red skinny jeans. Casual Friday at the office is the perfect opportunity to finally wear them together. I didn’t want to wear a solid color underneath the jacket so I wore my black and white striped tank from the Gap Outlet (which I got for 70% off!). You can never go wrong wearing these colors together!

Great news! I will be sponsoring my first giveaway so stay tuned for details! Have a wonderful weekend.

Tuxedo Love

Happy Monday all! I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday!

When I saw this Bespoke white tuxedo jacket from Simply Be it was love at first sight! Armed with my 40% off coupon I placed my order and patiently waited for the jacket to come. After almost waiting 2 weeks for the jacket, it finally arrived. Lemme tell ya it was worth the wait! Everything from the cut to the fabric is outstanding. It’s not flimsy or boxy. It’s a structured blazer that flatters your curves. The jacket can be dressed up with heels or down with jeans. And it’s completely appropriate for the workplace. The tuxedo jacket is definitely one of those “must have” items for your wardrobe.

How would you wear a tuxedo jacket? Have a great evening!

Daydreaming Takes Me Where I Want To Be

Happy Monday all! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I took full advantage of the the warm weather and hung out with my goddaughter Skylar on Saturday. We had fun eating ice cream and being silly!

Lately, I’ve been daydreaming about taking a beach vacation. My last beach vacation was Grand Cayman in 2010, so I’m seriously overdue for a relaxing break. My outfit today is inspired by my need for a vacation. When I’m on vacation, I like to wear comfortable and colorful clothing. So, I decided to go for a nautical look by pairing my white trouser jeans and light blue striped shirt together. I added my pink blazer for a pop of color. I finished the look off with my 5 year old yellow wedges. Although I’m dressed for the office, I can pretend I’m on vacation!

What have you been daydreaming about? Have a great evening!
