Happy Monday all!

It seems like I’ve been searching for a structured white blazer forever.  I have  almost every color blzaer  except for  white.  Most plus size white blazers I found were either  off white or ivory colored with 3/4 length sleeves,  made with very lightweight (practically see through) material with a loose/boxy  fit.  I almost gave up on my search until I came across this white Tahari Woman blazer on Nordstrom.com . As you ladies know, online shopping can be tricky so I wanted to try the blazer on before buying it. Luckily my local Nordstrom  had the blazer in stock so I called and had them hold a size 18 for me.   The blazer fit my arms but was bulky in the waist and needed to be taken in. Lisa (the sales associate) informed me that Nordstrom offers alterations in house, something I didn’t know. I nearly did a somersault when she told me this! Their tailor came to the dressing room and pinned the blazer to the fit I desired.  With the extra inches off my waist the blazer  fit  me  perfectly.   After paying for the blazer, I was told it would be ready the  following Saturday for  pick up.  I picked up my blazer yesterday and was completely satisfied with the results. I’m glad that my search for the perfect white blazer is finally over!

Ever since I stumbled upon Burning Love ( a Yahoo web series that parodies The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise) I’ve been hooked! To say this show is hilarious is an understatement.  From the clueless “bachelor” to the crazy/delusional  female contestants this show will have you in stitches!

2. Candy Crush

This is my latest iPhone game obsession (obviously I’ve moved on from Ruzzle!).  Cant get enough of it!

3. Jeweliq

As an accessories junkie, I’m always looking for affordable jewelry.  So when I heard about Jeweliq I had to give them a try.  They offer necklaces, bracelets and earrings all for  $25 and under.  Yup, nothing on the site is over $25!  You can now indulge in a fab statement necklace without breaking the bank or paying for shipping!

4. Chobani Non Fat Greek Yogurt Pomegranate

 I absolutely love this flavor of Chobani yogurt.  It’s smooth, creamy texture and sweet pomegranate flavor  satisfies  my  late afternoon  cravings instantly.  I’ve tried other flavors but none of them compare to the pomegranate. None!  

5. Maxi Dresses

Nothing says Summer to me than an easy, breezy maxi dress.  I own nearly ten of them and I still can’t get enough!   The above JCPenney dress is already on my “must have” list for the Summer!

My Style Inspiration: GarnerStyle

Happy Hump Day all!

There are some people who have amazing, effortless style that you know is  not forced or fake.  Chasity from GarnerStyle is such a person.  She doesn’t let ANY fashion rules dictate what she wears.  Chasity’s outfits celebrate her wonderful curves and highlight her confidence.  I’m constantly in awe of Chasity’s bold fashion choices that thumb her nose to fashion naysayers.   Chasity’s blog just doesn’t showcase her style, she uses it as a platform to introduce plus size designers such as Jasmine Elder, the designer behind Jibri.  Until I read Chasity’s blog, I had never heard of Jibri but now I’m a huge fan of her clothing. She is also the author of  “The Curvy Girl’s Guide to Style   that helps plus size women  bring out their inner fashionista. Chasity proves  that plus size woman are chic and sophisticated. This is why she is my style inspiration!

“Mad Men” Monday

Happy Monday all!

Now that the weather has FINALLY decided to cooperate, I can start wearing my Spring/Summer dresses.  Ever since I got this  Eshakti dress I’ve been dying to wear it.  The dress gives off a very 60’s vibe.  I feel like if I were working at Don Draper’s ad agency on “Mad Men” I would fit right in!   I didn’t have the dress customized but I did size up so it wouldnt be too snug. Sizing up made the dress a little big around the waist and chest but a trip to the tailor will fix that.  The light cotton material is perfect for warmer temperatures and doesn’t weigh you down.  The skirt is lined so you don’t have to worry about wearing a slip.   The next time I order from  Eshakti, I will have the dress customized so I can see if there is a difference in the fit.  Check them out at Eshakti.com.

The beautiful warm weather I’ve been wishing  for has finally arrived (what took you so long?!!).   I was finally able to leave the house without wearing tights today.  I still have them on standby just in case the weather decides to be fickle.
