Happy Hump Day all!
As you know, I love color blocking. During the Summer it was easy to do but now that Fall is upon us, I was facing a small dilemma…how do I color block in the Fall? When I think of Fall, I think of earthy colors like browns and oranges. Not wanting to slip back into the habit of wearing dark colors all the time, I had to find a solution. While flipping through my latest issue of People Style Watch, I solved my dilemma. The emergence of jewel tones have come to my rescue! After fishing through my closet, I came up with this color combo. Now I can continue to color block all season long!
What jewel tones do you want to try?
Have a wonderful evening!

ADORABLE…..thank you. I don’t want to go black/brown/beige so early in the season either….so thank you for the tip! Love the way you look.

Thank you! I’m glad the tip helped!!!
Gorgeous! I love jewel tones and pastels. And I like to use off-the-wall color combinations; like lavender with green, or gray with pink; all color combinations I see in Nature!

I love my shoes!!! I try not to wear them everyday!
You know, I don’t own one yellow thing; yellow is really not a good color near my skin. Recently my gospel group chose grey & yellow for a particular performance dress and I realized I would have to go with straight grey — what a dowdy thing I was! But seeing how great that skirt looks on you and with that color blocking, I’m gonna reconsider! No reason I can’t branch out color-wise if it’s not near my face. And your shoes totally make the outfit, IMO.
I’ve started branching out with color too. Realizing that I can wear “unflattering” colors on the lower half of my body has been liberating! Yellow denim shorts, olive cargo pants, coral skirt. I just pair them with a neutral or a more flattering color top. For instance, right now I’m wearing the yellow shorts ( http://www.walmart.com/ip/Signature-by-Levi-Strauss-Co.-Totally-Slimming-Abbey-Shorts/19476830 ) with a navy tank top that has white, hot pink, and mustard polka dots (similar to this http://www.puttingmetogether.com/2012_03_01_archive.html ).
Are you proud of me, Georgette?
Sorry, here’s the link to the top in a similar fabric to mine:
