TGIF everybody!

My outfit inspiration today comes from the lovely Shea of Curves and Confidence.  I’ve been a fan of her sleek, polished style for a while now, so when I saw her outfit on Pinterest, I knew I had to put my spin on it.  Shea’s ensemble was right up my alley because it combined two of my favorite things, hot pink and leopard print.  The pop of  bright color compliments her outfit and makes it stand out.  I also liked that she wasnt afraid to wear a strong color to work. Often people shy away from wearing bright colors in the workplace but Shea shows if you wear it properly, you can definitely pull it off!

Check out Shea’s blog to see more of her fabulous looks!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Weekend Edition: Ladies Who Brunch!

Happy Monday all!

Yesterday afternoon I had the pleasure of meeting some of my readers for brunch.  This was my first meet & greet and to be honest I was a little nervous. My nervousness quickly went away after introductions and before I knew it, we were engrossed in conversation like old friends!  I had such a wonderful time connecting with these ladies.  It meant the world to me that they took time out of their busy schedules to hang out with lil ole me!Thank you for coming out and spending part of your Sunday afternoon with me!

This won’t be my last meet & greet and I hope to one day meet all of you (I’m serious!).  To show my appreciation,  Sonsi has graciously given me a $25 gift card to give away to my readers.  If you would like a chance at winning the card, please leave  a comment below with your name and email address and what item from Sonsi you would use the gift card on.  I’ll be picking the winner on Friday morning… Good luck!

Have a wonderful day!

P.S. I’ll be in NYC for the Thanksgiving holiday if anyone wants to grab lunch that weekend!  🙂

Does the Body Good

Happy Monday all!

I believe that every woman should own a “feel good” dress.  It’s a dress that instantly makes you feel like a million bucks when you put it on.  A “feel good” dress is all about you embracing your body and feeling comfortable in your skin.  I own a few of these dresses and I’m happy to add IGIGI’s  Nicolette Peplum dress to my collection.   Everything from the lace sleeves to the print makes it a winner in my book.  I own several IGIGI dresses, but this one is strictly for play, not work.  It’s definitely a dress I would wear when I want to show off and flaunt my curves.

IGIGI’s new Fall 2013 collection  continues their commitment to offering quality plus size clothing. The collection offers rich, bold hues and wonderful prints to accentuate your figure.   I’ve included some of their latest offerings for you to check out.  You never know, you might spot a potential “feel good” dress in there!

What is your ‘feel good” dress?

Have a wonderful day!

Casual Friday: You Can Wear That!

TGIF all!

I’ve been eying the camo trend for a few weeks now and was toying with giving it a try.  After checking out my blogger buddy Dionne in a pair of Old Navy camo print Rockstar jeans, I decided to order them. I have to admit when I got these pants I thought they might be too “young” for me. I didn’t want to seem like I was trying too hard but then I thought, why not? “Dressing your age” is another of those “fashion rules” that are meant to make women feel ashamed about aging. It’s based in this notion that women over 40 don’t have the right to be trendy or chic. That’s pure BS! I dress WAY better now than I did in my 20s and 30s! Style doesn’t die after 40, it changes and adapts to what you want it to be. Only you have the power to define who you are. Don’t let  society’s skewered perception of older women stop you from wearing what you want.

Have a wonderful weekend!
