Casual Friday/Pink Friday

TGIF everyone!

This is the fourth time I’ve posted an outfit wearing these pink cropped pants, so needless to say, I love them very much!   Before I packed them away for the Fall/Winter,  I wanted to give them one last hurrah.  What better day than  Friday to wear these bright, fun pants!  I added  a black & white  striped  sweater, black flats and a flowered necklace (my newest love!) to complete my look.  I must say I feel very Kate Spade-ish in this outfit!  I’m sad to see the pants go, but don’t worry they’ll be back!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Monday everybody!

I should be relaxing on my day off  but  instead I’m trying to finish up my  “To Do” list from the weekend.  When I usually  run errands  I wear jeans, sneakers and a sweater because its quick and easy.  Today I updated my errand “uniform” because you can be stylish and comfortable while going to the grocery store.  Instead of wearing jeans, I wore red cords for a pop of color. I decided to substitute the sweater with a denim shirt.   I slipped on leopard print flats which are just as comfortable as  my sneakers.  By making these simple changes  my boring errand “uniform” turned  into a cute outfit.

Do you have an errand “uniform”? If so, how would you make it more stylish?

Have a wonderful day!

Back in Black

Happy Thursday all!

I want apologize for my lack of blogging this week. I got KOed by the flu earlier this week and just returned to work today.  I feel 100% better now and so  happy to be able t0 breathe out of both nostrils!

The dress I’m wearing today is from the Sean Anthony Designs Fall Collection.  I bought  this  dress during their trunk show at BellaNOR Boutique last Saturday evening.  BellaNOR is a wonderful plus size boutique here in Philadelphia  featuring many labels such as Monif C, Igigi and Kioynna.  I’ve driven past the boutique a few times and wanted to stop in but never  had the chance so the trunk show was the perfect opportunity to check it out.

I was immediately drawn to the dress because  I don’t own a LBD! (bad blogger, bad! LOL).  Another thing that drew me  in was the asymmetrical neckline.  Usually plus size dresses have either a vee or scoop neck so this was different.  The dress accentuates your curves but it isn’t tight or constricting.  The  comfortable  knit material has great stretch to it which didn’t ride up when I walked.   The length is appropriate for work and looks great with heels.  It’s a dress that can easily go from day to night with a switch of  shoes and accessories.

I paired my dress with gold accessories and my leopard print kitten heels (which are so comfy I want to wear them everyday!) to finish my outfit.  I would definitely  recommend you check out Sean Anthony Designs. The collection offers quality clothing  at affordable prices.  We need to support designers who want to provide stylish, good quality clothing to curvy women .   Also if you are in the Philadelphia area, please visit BellaNOR Boutique.  The boutique provides  a much needed space where the  plus size consumer  can feel wonderful about herself and her body.

Have a wonderful evening!

Casual Friday/Denim on Denim

TGIF everybody!

Denim skirts and I have a temperamental relationship.  I love them but whenever I try one on, it never seems to fit  right!  Either the skirt gapes in the waist  or has too much stretch in it which causes the skirt to rise way above my knees when I walk.  After trying on several of them, I going to give up until I saw this dark rinse skirt on Lands End’s website.  Since I had a 30% off code, I decided to take a chance and ordered it.  When I got it I immediately put it on and I was not disappointed! The skirt is the perfect fit and length for me.  The skirt  has  elastic bands at the waist that eliminates gaping (the elastic waist is completely unnoticeable). There is right amount of stretch in the skirt that stops it from rising above my knees.

I paired my skirt with my polka dot denim shirt from Old Navy (go get this shirt!), red flats for a pop of color and a sliver  chain necklace to finish off my Casual Friday look.  The skirt is currently on sale here with an additional 30% off.  Happy shopping!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jewel of the Nile

Happy Hump Day all!

As you know, I love color blocking.  During the Summer it was easy to do but now that Fall is upon us, I was  facing a small dilemma…how do I color block in the Fall?    When I think  of Fall, I think of earthy colors  like browns and oranges.  Not wanting to slip back into the habit of wearing dark colors all the time, I had to find a solution.    While flipping through my latest issue of People Style Watch,  I solved my dilemma. The emergence of  jewel tones have come to my rescue!   After fishing through my closet, I came up with this color combo.    Now I can continue to color block all season long!

What jewel tones do you want to try?

Have a wonderful evening!
