Weekend Edition: Summer Rewind

Happy Labor Day all!

I hope everyone is enjoying the three day holiday weekend so far.  I’ve been spending this holiday enjoying not doing one darn thing! To me, lazy weekends are the best!

Now that Summer is pretty much over (even the temperature is changing tomorrow), I thought it be cool to pick my favorite outfits of the season.  This Summer I was more open to trying to new color combinations than I was last year. I’ve decided that no matter the season I will always add color to my outfit.  I will be color blocking to the day I die! LOL

I can’t believe the end of the Summer is already here (well unofficially)!  It just  seems like yesterday we were celebrating its arrival.  And while Fall is one of my favorite seasons, it ushers in cooler temps and shorter days which makes me very unhappy.  So today I’m bidding adieu to Summer in a colorful casual Friday outfit.  See you next year Summer!

Weekend Edition: MJ Forever

Happy Monday all!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!

On Saturday night I went to a Michael Jackson-Prince dance party.  As you can see from the pics I was clearly Team MJ all the way! I was in middle school when “Thriller” was released. My sisters grew up with MJ and the Jackson 5, so they handed down their  love of his music to me.  I remember crowding around the TV with my older sisters screaming  during his “Motown 25” performance.  Even though it drove my mom completely nuts, we would blast his music and dance around the house.   MJ’s songs always transport me back to those days that I hold dear to me.   So on Saturday night, I danced to celebrate MJ’s music and all those wonderful childhood memories.

Casual Friday: Now and Later

TGIF all!

Since Fall is less than a month away (YAY!),  Ive been  starting to think of  the transitional pieces in my closet.  For me a button up shirt is one of the best transitional pieces I own.  They can be worn alone with the sleeves rolled up or layered under jackets and sweaters.  As with any new season a bunch of trends have popped up.  Plaid has been crowned one of the seasons  newest and I’m excited to try it.    Since I’m new to plaid  I kept  it simple and  went with a button down shirt.  Keeping with my love of colors, I picked a plaid combo with colors I love. So heres my take on plaid for now and later!

Weekend Edition: Vacation Mode Pt. 2

Happy Monday all!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I spent my weekend doing housework, laundry and errands…I know SO exciting! LOL

I made sure amidst all the fun I was having that I documented some of  my outfits during my vacation.  Since I didn’t have my trusty tripod I had to rely on my BFF and my godson, Alex to take my pics. It felt good to be casual and not dolled up for work.  I spent the majority of my vacation lounging in bathing suits and shorts.

I promised myself this Summer I wasn’t going to wear  skirted bottom with my tankini.  To be honest I was really self conscious about  my thighs being uncovered  but by the second dip in the pool, all was forgotten!  I love this pic of me in my tankini while on Governor’s Beach in Grand Turk.
