With day light savings time right around the corner, colder weather isn’t too far behind. Falling temperatures doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style when it comes to your Winter coat. Fab Flats for $50 and Under

Happy Monday all!

As I’ve gotten older, my love for heels has seriously waned.  Instead of donning on 3 inch heels, I find myself reaching for my trusty flats.  Flats are a main staple in my closet.  Because they are so versatile, I can wear them to the supermarket or a night out.  Plus I think they are a  great substitute  for sneakers when you need to quickly get out the door.  And Like the majority of items in my closet, my flats are wallet  friendly so I can stay on budget.

Adding affordable pieces allows you to stay within your budget and update your selection.   Walmart’s studded boucle jacket can be dressed up with a skirt  or down with jeans and ankle boots.  The jacket can easily become a staple in your wardrobe and be worn again and again.  A leopard print skirt is also just as versatile and is a great addition to any closet. Transitions Pt 1: The Sleeveless Dress

Whenever I buy clothes I think primarily about sustainability.  If I can’t wear an item for at least two seasons, I’m probably not going to get it. Having an interchangeable wardrobe is essential because you’re getting more wear out of your clothes and it decreases the need to constantly replenish your closet.   Sleeveless dresses are definitely an item that you can get a lot of wear from. Plus  they  transition smoothly  from season to season.  The next time you want to wear a cardigan with  your sleevless dress, dont leave it open.  Button it up to create a crew neck sweater to wear over your dress.  Add a belt and ta da…its now a skirt!  This pretty much works on most sleeveless dresses so get creative, try it with your favorite printed or patterned sweater.

 The easiest way to transition a sleeveless  dress is by adding a blazer. But instead of  reaching for a blazer, try a fitted leather jacket. It adds instant polish and  edge to your dress but Is still appropriate for work.

Weekend Edition: Vacation Mode Pt. 2

Happy Monday all!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  I spent my weekend doing housework, laundry and errands…I know SO exciting! LOL

I made sure amidst all the fun I was having that I documented some of  my outfits during my vacation.  Since I didn’t have my trusty tripod I had to rely on my BFF and my godson, Alex to take my pics. It felt good to be casual and not dolled up for work.  I spent the majority of my vacation lounging in bathing suits and shorts.

I promised myself this Summer I wasn’t going to wear  skirted bottom with my tankini.  To be honest I was really self conscious about  my thighs being uncovered  but by the second dip in the pool, all was forgotten!  I love this pic of me in my tankini while on Governor’s Beach in Grand Turk.
