Weekend Edition: Which Way To Go

Happy Monday all!

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty relaxed. On Saturday night I  had a date with a  nice man  who was respectful and made me smile.   Sunday afternoon I hung out with my girlfriends who I haven’t seen in a while due to our hectic schedules. Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos of my date outfit but I will say I clean up pretty nicely! 😉

Monday mornings are rough for me,  so I grabbed this dress because it was easy to wear. The bold print dominates the outfit so only minimal accessories are needed. After adding earrings, a bracelet and sandals I was ready to go in no time. The only downfall with this dress is that  it is higher in the back than in the front due to my “shelf” booty (LOL) so I end up constantly checking to see if my Spanx are showing( wearing  no shapewear is not an option for me).   I was too self conscious about the hike in the back so I ditched it and wore  something else.  I’m very much on the fence about whether I should keep or sell  this dress.  I love the print but I don’t like the length.  What should I do?!

Have an awesome day!

Casual Friday/Im a Repeat Offender Pt. 2

TGIF all!

The saying “if aint broke don’t try to fix it” is my motto when it comes to clothes. If I like something and it looks good on me I’m gonna keep wearing it. From time to time I like to shake things up but I always rely on my wardrobe staples. Maxi dresses are one of my staple pieces especially during the summer. I’m definitely a repeat offender when it comes to maxi dresses because I wear them ALL THE TIME. Maxi dresses makes it easy for me to stay cool and stylish during those hot, sweltering Summer days. During the cooler months I transition them over  by wearing them with  a jacket or blazer (I also wear a pullover sweater over my maxi & belt it  at the waist).  Plus (in my opinion) they flatter ALL body types…YES!

I want to see you wearing your favorite “repeat offender” outfit or item. Link your photos in the comment section and I will feature you on the blog with other “repeat offenders”!

Have a wonderful day and a great weekend!

Im a Repeat Offender!

Happy Hump Day all!

I was reading my blogger buddy Parker’s post Repeat Offender on her blog Everyday Runway and it got me thinking “I’m a repeat offender!” Currently I have my black & white striped shirt from Ann Taylor Loft in serious rotation (it was originally $44.50 and I got it for $13!) . I swear I wear it at least three times a week.  I think the reason why I’m so attached to the shirt is because I love how black & white instantly makes an outfit crisp and sleek.  I’ve been pairing the shirt with everything I can get my hands on…but its okay! I’ll happily keep offending until I find another item  to latch on to!

Are you a repeat offender? If so, what item of clothing or accessory you can’t get enough of?

Have a wonderful day!

All Mixed Up

Happy Hump Day all!

I’ve been PMSing the last couple of days so I’ve been making myself feel better by continuing to get dressed  up for work. Dressing up  is the last thing I wanna do because I feel frumpy and unattractive during this time.  If I could get away wearing a potato sack with flip-flops I would. And on top of  that I start crying over the silliest things.  I swear on Sunday night I started  tearing up watching a GEICO commercial!   PMS sucks!

I’m including Monday’s OOTD in this post because I wasnt able to post then due to problems with my Internet connection at home.

How do you cope with PMS?

Have a great day!

Getting Accustomed

Happy Hump Day all!

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a pretty dress so when I saw this on eShakti’s website I had to have it.  This is my second custom made dress from eShakti.  While my first custom dress fit  fine,  when I ordered this dress I  made my bust measurements bigger  because I didn’t want  that area to be tight.  Unfortunately making it bigger caused the top to gape therefore  exposing the undersides of my bra.   Since I didn’t want to send the dress back I had my tailor fix it.  I don’t fault eShakti for this because they were  going by the measurements I provided.   It’s important to make sure your measurements are correct to ensure a better fit.  You can either get someone to measure you or have your tailor do it (if you feel comfortable doing so).  I know the next time I’m gonna leave my measurements alone!

I definitely recommend giving eShakti a try.  They offer size 0-36 in ALL their dresses (they also have tops, jackets and skirts too!).   You can opt to have the dress of your choice custom made to your measurements for a mere $7.50. Also depending on the dress you can add sleeves, change the length of the dress or remove extras like pockets.  It’s an all-inclusive retailer which frankly more need to be like.   And to make things easier, if  you use my referral code GCN22879 you’ll  get $40 off your first eShakti order!  Sweet!

Have a wonderful day!
