Weekend Edition: Vacation Mode Pt. 2

Happy Monday all!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent my weekend doing housework, laundry and errands…I know SO exciting! LOL

I made sure amidst all the fun I was having that I documented some of my outfits during my vacation. Since I didn’t have my trusty tripod I had to rely on my BFF and my godson, Alex to take my pics. It felt good to be casual and not dolled up for work. I spent the majority of my vacation lounging in bathing suits and shorts.

I promised myself this Summer I wasn’t going to wear skirted bottom with my tankini. To be honest I was really self conscious about my thighs being uncovered but by the second dip in the pool, all was forgotten! I love this pic of me in my tankini while on Governor’s Beach in Grand Turk. Thanks Alex for taking such a good pic!

Getting Accustomed

Happy Hump Day all!

It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a pretty dress so when I saw this on eShakti’s website I had to have it. This is my second custom made dress from eShakti. While my first custom dress fit fine, when I ordered this dress I made my bust measurements bigger because I didn’t want that area to be tight. Unfortunately making it bigger caused the top to gape therefore exposing the undersides of my bra. Since I didn’t want to send the dress back I had my tailor fix it. I don’t fault eShakti for this because they were going by the measurements I provided. It’s important to make sure your measurements are correct to ensure a better fit. You can either get someone to measure you or have your tailor do it (if you feel comfortable doing so). I know the next time I’m gonna leave my measurements alone!

I definitely recommend giving eShakti a try. They offer size 0-36 in ALL their dresses (they also have tops, jackets and skirts too!). You can opt to have the dress of your choice custom made to your measurements for a mere $7.50. Also depending on the dress you can add sleeves, change the length of the dress or remove extras like pockets. It’s an all-inclusive retailer which frankly more need to be like. Casual Friday/To The Left

TGIF everyone!

I have a confession to make…I don’t like my left arm. Why? Because its bigger than my right which makes buying long sleeve shirts and blazers difficult. I know this may sound silly but for me it’s something about myself I don’t like. While I dislike my uneven left arm, I’ll still show it love and let it hang out in sleeveless dresses or tops. Basically what I’m trying to say is no matter what you dont like about your body, embrace it. Dont let it stop you from loving yourself or accepting who you are. In light of recent events in this country, life is too short to sweat the small stuff. So be thankful for who you are and rock on!

One of the BEST dramas on television right now (next to Scandal of course!). The series is about US Deputy Marshall Raylan Givens trying to enforce the law and old demons in Kentucky. Superb acting, complex characters and explosive storylines are the highlight of this show. I highly recommend checking this gem out on Tuesday nights at 10pm on FX.

4. Museums: I love museums but I don’t get to visit them as much as Id like, so this Spring Im going to make up for lost time. I have trips planned to the Barnes Foundation (here in Philly), the Guggenheim, the Museum of Sex (yes its a real museum! lol) and the Studio Museum of Harlem.
