Initially I wasn’t going to do a “best of” post but I decided to do one anyway. I picked these outfits because they were so fun to wear! The outfits are special to me because they show me embracing my body. No more hiding and following ridiculous fashion “rules”. If I like it and feel comfortable, I’m gonna wear it!
In keeping with New Year traditions, I’ve only made two resolutions that I know I will not break:
1. Exercise & be healthy
2. Travel more (I’m heading to Vegas later this month, Paris in April and Chicago in July)
Without realizing it, I’m wearing the winterized version of this outfit I wore back in August. Winter is my least favorite season so I can get a little gloomy while impatiently waiting for the Spring to come. This year I plan to continue to wear bright colors and cheery outfits such as this one to keep the “winter blues” away. I think this Gap blazer I ordered today should help out immensely!
My holiday social life kicked up in high gear last week and ended on a fabulous note. On Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of having lunch with a group of beautiful and intelligent women. We came together to see our dear friend who had come back East for the holidays. We discussed everything from “Scandal” (totally obsessed with that show!) to current political issues. I could kick myself for not bringing my camera to get a group shot of these lovely ladies!
Later that evening Tamera, Latasha and I got together for our gift exchange dinner. This time I didn’t forget my camera and I was able to take some pictures between gift giving and laughs. Dinner was delicious and we had an awesome time. After dinner we wandered the mall and finished our Christmas shopping.
While at Macys Saturday morning I saw this sequin jacket hanging on the rack. This time last year I would have NEVER thought to buy this this jacket. I would have told myself that I looked like a big disco ball and passed it by. Now I no longer feel that negative about my body so I snatched up the last 2x. Once I tried the jacket on, I knew I was going to buy it and wear it to dinner that night. I’m so glad I bought this jacket because it represents how far I’ve come from the person I used to be.
My 8-year-old goddaughter still believes in Santa Claus (she told me so over dinner two weeks ago) so that got me to thinking…what if Santa was real? I’ve been a little naughty this year but overall I was a good girl so here’s my Christmas Wish list!
Santa this vibrant Coach tote would make me smile everyday and not be a Grinch when its cold outside! Plus its roomy enough to carry all my Christmas gifts! (okay I know that’s laying it on a little thick Santa).
Santa I NEED this coat like yesterday! The color is vibrant and a great alternative to my old black coat. Santa can’t you see me wearing my yellow Coach tote with this coat?! OMG!
Santa you know how much I love a great black and white print! This blouse would be perfect with my leather pencil skirt or red trousers. I expect this number under the Christmas tree or no cookies for you!
