Summer Rewind

Happy Monday all!

I can’t believe that Summer almost over!  It just feels like yesterday we escaped frozen tundras for warm sunny days.  I’m going to miss day parties, lounging at the pool and 8:30pm sunsets.  I wish I had went to the beach more and gone to a few festivals but overall I really had a good Summer.   Of course the highlight of my Summer was my trip to Miami.  While Miami was super hot and humid, I enjoyed myself immensely.  If I find another fab Miami hotel deal through Travel Zoo I might be back sooner than later!  I’m also going to miss wearing breezy off the shoulder Summer dresses like this one from Shein (which was only $24!).  I love these dresses so much I’m thinking of possibly layering them with a turtleneck or a moto jacket to extend their wear into the Fall.

While Fall is one of my favorite seasons, I wish I could rewind Summer and do it all over again…*sigh*

One Piece Wonder!

Happy Monday all!

My BFF and I were talking about bathing suits recently and she remarked “Getta all you have is two piece suits”.  After a pause I realized she was right.  I have three one pieces but I stopped wearing them because they provide zero support in the bust area.  Last Summer  I found Old Navy’s underwire bikini tops  provided me with the support my breasts needed and I kinda went two piece crazy!  Fast forward to this Summer and I was determined to find a good one piece bathing suit.  Luckily Eloquii came to the rescue with this red stripe Wrap Halter suit that I’ve been drooling over for awhile.  I had concerns about the bust support but decided to go for it anyway.  Once I tried on the suit all my  fears quickly evaporated.  I can honestly say this is the best bathing suit I’ve ever owned.  Not only is it super cute it fully covers my butt, smooths out my belly and supports my breasts 100%.  I wore this suit for over 8 hours at the pool this past Saturday and not once did I have to adjust it.  The suit has underwire in the bust but  it was so comfortable I forgot it was even there!

Honestly I can’t say enough about this suit except GO GET ONE!

Free Yourself

Happy Hump Day all!

Last Summer I decided to stop wearing shape wear and Spanx under my skirts and dresses.  The primary reason I wore shape wear in the Summer was to combat painful thigh rub (aka chub rub).  After years of constricting myself during ridiculously hot Summer days, I couldn’t take it anymore.   While I was frustrated I worried I wouldn’t be able to find a product to stop my chub rub.  Nevertheless I was committed to find a solution. After trying  Bandelettes, Mega Babe and Monistat Chafe Relief Powder Gel , I found Monistat to be the best product for me.  I liked that I only had to reapply it once during the day and it didn’t lose its effectiveness when I would sweat.  It was such a relief to be able to wear skirts and dresses without worrying about chub rub.  Dont get me wrong, I still wear shape wear/Spanx if necessary but having the option to go without is very liberating.

We all have at least one turtleneck in our Winter wardrobe.  While sometimes they get a bad rap , turtlenecks can one of the most versatile items of clothing in your closet.  It’s the perfect Winter layering piece that practically goes with everything. From dresses to jeans, a turtleneck can go a long way in the Winter.  Try layering your turtleneck underneath an off the shoulder dress or a denim jumpsuit to Winterize some of your favorite Spring pieces.

No Sequins Required

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend!

Now that the holiday season has begun the need for festive clothing is in high demand. Almost all holiday collections include glitzy, sparkly clothes for the season. While I’m all for sparkly, not all party clothes need to contain sequins or glitter.  Sometimes all it takes is one piece like this Danity Jewells tiered skirt  to make an outfit stand out.  Having one or two statement pieces already in your closet can make getting dressed for an upcoming holiday party a bit easier. Also it’s totally okay if you’re not into sequins or glittery clothing.  A fantastic dress in a bold color can be just as showstopping as a sequin one.  Remember it’s you who makes the outfit, not the other way around!
