Im a Repeat Offender!

Happy Hump Day all!

I was reading my blogger buddy Parker’s post Repeat Offender on her blog Everyday Runway and it got me thinking “I’m a repeat offender!” Currently I have my black & white striped shirt from Ann Taylor Loft in serious rotation (it was originally $44.50 and I got it for $13!) . I swear I wear it at least three times a week.  I think the reason why I’m so attached to the shirt is because I love how black & white instantly makes an outfit crisp and sleek.  I’ve been pairing the shirt with everything I can get my hands on…but its okay! I’ll happily keep offending until I find another item  to latch on to!

Are you a repeat offender? If so, what item of clothing or accessory you can’t get enough of?

Have a wonderful day!

The Back Up Plan/Heatwave!

Happy Saturday all!

Yesterday I  had this amazing (in my mind) mix print outfit I was going to wear. I was so sure it would work that I  didn’t even bother to try it on to see if it would work.  Although I had faith in my outfit,  I  decided to  err on the side of caution and have another outfit on standby.   Needless to say  my “amazing” outfit was an epic fail so the back up was the outfit of the day!

On a side note, I was supposed to publish this post yesterday but after dealing with the extreme heat and traveling to NYC, I couldn’t muster the energy to complete it.   It was BEYOND hot yesterday.  Between the heat and oppressive humidity, just walking a short distance sapped your energy.  To make matters worse, I had to stand in that furnace for over 45 minutes because the bus I took to NYC was late!  I was sweating everywhere…even between my toes! When the bus finally arrived the AC was barely working!  UGH! Only trickles of semi cold air was coming out the vents.  I seriously wanted to cry because I’ve never been that hot and uncomfortable.   I had to sit in that  hot box for over THREE HOURS because traffic into NYC was at epic levels (the ride from Philadelphia to NYC is usually less than two hours).    Luckily NYC trains are generously air-conditioned so I was able to get some relief when I got on.  When I finally got to my sister’s house I passed out on her couch because I was so exhausted.

If you’re in the States, stay cool and safe this weekend.  I heard this massive heat wave is supposed to end tonight (YES!!!).

Have a great day!

All Mixed Up

Happy Hump Day all!

I’ve been PMSing the last couple of days so I’ve been making myself feel better by continuing to get dressed  up for work. Dressing up  is the last thing I wanna do because I feel frumpy and unattractive during this time.  If I could get away wearing a potato sack with flip-flops I would. And on top of  that I start crying over the silliest things.  I swear on Sunday night I started  tearing up watching a GEICO commercial!   PMS sucks!

I’m including Monday’s OOTD in this post because I wasnt able to post then due to problems with my Internet connection at home.

How do you cope with PMS?

Have a great day!

Weekend Edition: Full Figure Fashion Week Pt. 1

Happy Monday all!

First I want to apologize for my lack of posting last week.  I was in  NYC for  Full Figure Fashion Week and the Blogging While Brown conference, so needless to say I was pooped!  Last Wednesday, I was invited to the Lane Bryant Blogger Conference with several other awesome bloggers.  At the breakfast I finally got to meet Dani from DIYFATSION   (who is such a sweetie in person!), Meaghan from Little Lime Dress , Bella from Bella Styles and CeCe from the Big Girl Blog (you must check out her amazing blog!).  I also got to reconnect with the lovely Parker from Everyday Runway 365, the sweet Rebecca from The Plus Side of Me and bubbly Oliva from Wait Until the Sunset (who is THE life of the party lemme tell ya!). .

In the afternoon, Lane Bryant treated us to a delicious  lunch to discuss their plans for  their A/W collection.  They explained that they are  committed to  providing fashionable and trendy clothing to plus size women.  During the Q&A poriton of the presentation Lane Bryant was open to all the comments/suggestions  bloggers had about their line.  They gave us a sneak peek of their upcoming A/W 13 collection and I can say I’m truly excited about the direction they are taking.

I had a completely different outfit planned for the blogger conference but at the last minute  dress I wanted  to wear  didn’t fit (that’s what I get for not trying it on at the store!).  Luckily I packed  my Lane Bryant skinny jeans  so they saved the day!

Stay tuned for  more FFFWeek recaps this week!

How was your week/weekend?

Have a great day!

Casual Friday/Back in the Saddle

TGIF all!

I finally returned to work  this week after jury duty and I have to say I was glad to be back!  I’m pretty autonomous at my job so I missed being able to work at my own pace. Luckily there wasn’t a huge pile of work waiting  for me  so it easy to get back into the swing of things.   Another thing I missed was dressing up for work.  Don’t get me wrong, I love being casual but I also love wearing a cute work outfit with a great pair of shoes!

Have a wonderful weekend!
