Learning To Be Satisfied

Happy Monday all!

I love to shop.  My love of shopping has gained me sizable  wardrobe that has taken up nearly all my closet space.  One would say I have more than enough but I don’t feel that way.   I’m constantly looking to add more when I simply don’t need it.   Shopping has done a number on my finances and I have begun recovering.  In my financial recovery, I know I need to stay within my budget.  At the beginning of this month I decided to challenge myself not to shop for 30 days.  I lasted 6 days before I stumbled.  Although I “relapsed”, I’m determined to see my challenge through.  The goal of this challenge is for me to become  content and satisfied with what I have. This is the first time I’ve really made a conscious effort to restrict my shopping. Shopping had become a coping mechanism and now that I’ve cut back I’m learning how to deal with difficult feelings.  Slowly I’m beginning to unlearn poor habits and have begun to be creative with my wardrobe.  I still have a long road ahead of me but I am confident that I will learn to be satisfied.

Have a wonderful day!

It’s never easy changing behaviors but you got this! I love your color combination, it’s beautiful and refreshing.

Good for you! I think blogging on fashion means that you are constantly exposed to the next great thing, making it hard. I’m looking forward to seeing your “shopping my closet” looks and hearing about your successes in resisting new things. A lot of folks are in the same boat.

Thank you so much for this post I needed this and I truly wish you well because I too have wrecked shop on my finances and have to realize that I am enough and that I have enough which is easier said than done but I will take this message that you have shared and challenged myself to not shop just one day at a time I don’t need anything I truly have more than enough I give things away and then of course I have to go buy something and it needs to stop. I wish you well and your journey and trust me I’m right behind you!

Last year I challenged myself to no shopping for 30 days. It was hard in the beginning but as the month went on it got easier and I found myself better able to resist temptation. Since then I’ve found it easier to not shop.
