TGIF all!
I haven’t done a post like this in awhile and thought I’d share my current favorites!
Have a great weekend!
Based off Natalie Brazile’s novel of the same name, Queen Sugar chronicles the lives and struggles of siblings Charly, Nova and Ralph Angel as they try to keep their beloved father’s sugarcane farm and legacy alive. Directed by Academy Award nominee Ana DuVernay (Selma) , Queen Sugar is a lush, complex and superbly acted drama that will pull you in with it’s depiction of Southern life. Check it out on Wednesday nights at 10pm, you wont be sorry!
2. Steve Madden Kate Suede Loafers:
Thanks to Gucci, the loafer is enjoying a resurgence this Fall. I’ve always been a fan of loafers so I’m loving the various colors, styles and textures being offered in this season. These Steve Madden loafers are perfect for work and play. They come in a variety of colors so there is something for everybody. Needless to say, I had to get the red ones!
3. Sweet Charlie’s:
Sweet Charlie’s is an ice cream eatery here in Philly that serves Thai inspired ice cream rolls. Devoted masses line up to patiently wait almost two hours (yep, TWO HOURS) to get their hands on their delicious creations. To see what all the hype was all about, I made my way to Sweet Charlie’s (I only waited 45 minutes) and boy was I not disappointed. I got the Kiss & Tell (York peppermint patty, mint Oreo cookie combined with ice cream) and it was so good I licked the bowl when I was finished (obviously I have no home training…LOL). So if you ever find yourself in Philly, you MUST try Sweet Charlie’s!
4. Red & Green:
Red & Green are my go to colors this Fall. I’m patiently waiting for the weather to change (Summer isn’t letting go…boo) so I can wear my faux leather green skirt and red loafers!
5. Pussy Bows:
Pussy bows were all the rage last Fall and they are still going strong. Try one around the collar of your blouse or shirt to add some pizzazz to your outfit. Once you get the hang of it, experiment with different color and prints to highlight your individual style.
