Happy Hump Day all!
Being in the 30 Plus Style collaborative has definitely stretching the boundaries of my style. Back in the Spring it was a tutu and now a dress over pants. Ive seen pictures of this trend but mostly on the runway and on street style stars. While it looked good on them, I became concerned that I wouldnt work on me and I would end up looking like a bag lady. So I took to my beloved Pinterest to find inspiration and to find how to wear the trend stylishly. What I got from the pins is that slim or skinny leg pants and A line dresses seem to be the best combo when venturing into this look. After some serious closet digging I decided to pair an old dress over straight leg jeans. I added heels to lengthen my legs and balance out the proportions. My ripped jeans (which I cannot stop wearing!) added to the bohemian vibe of the dress. Honestly I don’t know if Ill wear this trend again but it was fun to try something new and a little scary!
So what do you think? Would you wear a dress over pants?

This is really cute! I’ve always loved this dress. This is a trend I’ve been on the fence about (for the same reasons you mentioned!) but you’re inspiring me again!

Thank you! I say try it! If you dont like it you dont have to wear it again! 🙂
I love that dress, but I have to say I’m not a fan of the dress-over-pants look. You carry it off well, but it’s not something I would want to try for me. And part of that is I like wearing as few clothes as possible; that combination would just be uncomfortable for me. I’m even uncomfortable when I have to wear a jacket. 😀

LOL…I completely understand. It was hard for me to grasp this trend. Im gonna wear it later on in the Fall when it starts getting cold so I can layer & keep warm!
Easy breezy… looks great!

Thank you! You should definitely give it a try!
It’s a trend that I’ve seen look good on a lot of people (including you here) but not one I’ve tried myself. I’m reconsidering now.

I was just like you until I tried it. I think Im gonna try it again when it starts getting colder. It’s a chic way to layer and stay warm!
I personally hate wearing a dress over pants because of the double fabric thing and I find it irritating when I”m walking, sitting, or moving. I think your style looks great! I love what you have thrown together and think you should try it again – you have many gorgeous dresses that would suit the look!

Thank you so much! I can see what youre saying about the double fabric thing. Ill try this look again in the late Fall to keep warm against the chilly temps.
This was such a challenge for me too. Talking about streching boundaries huh? Loved your dress and the colors just pop, with or without pants.
