Happy Hump Day all!
Have you ever loved an item online but once you got it you were completely turned off? This skirt in this post is an example of that. I lusted after this skirt for almost a month before I decided to get it. When it arrived, I was like “I’m NEVER wearing this skirt!”. It looked poofy and odd on me. I was completely disappointed with my choice. Since the skirt was custom made, I couldn’t return it for a refund. I kicked myself for hours for making a poor decision. After letting the skirt flounder in my closet for several months, I’m pulling it out today. Why? Because it’s not that serious! There are people out there who would love to have clean clothes to wear. Honestly, I felt silly for being disappointed over a skirt. Life is too short to sweat the small stuff so while I’m still not crazy about it, I’ll be just fine!
How do you deal with clothes that disappoint?
Have a wonderful day!
Skirt: custom made by Vintage Galeria (via Etsy)

That’s such a cute skirt! I’m glad you gave it another try.

Thank you!!!
That’s a cute skirt and it looks good on you.

Thank you so much!
I don’t see anything poofy or weird about the skirt. I like the attitude you’ve adopted. 🙂
I have a dress that is a bit too short. It’s fine when I first put it on, but sometimes it rides up a bit and your can see my bike shorts in the back. So, I usually wear it with leggings / Capri leggings. Problem solved.

Awww thank you! I have a dress like that too but I cant wear leggings with it. I plan on selling it. Maybe someone else can get better use out of it!
I think that shirt looks great on you! It’s very flattering.

Thank you! I appreciate it! 🙂
That should say “Skirt”
I think the skirt is so gorgeous, however I know how you feel, and I’ve bought skirts like this before and been so disappointed, thought they were so poofy and unflattering on me. But girl you worked it, it looks fab!

Thank you! You hit the nail right on the head! Im glad you can relate! 🙂
I love your belt! Where did you get it?
Author
Thank you! I got it from Old Navy like 4yrs ago.
Hindsight is 20/20 and this is a marvelous skirt on you. Enjoy!!

Thank you! You are soooo right!
You may not care much for it but it looks nice on you. I like it’s shape. I tend to keep things I’ve fallen out of love with in my closet (hoping for someday..and it never arrives) until I get tired of looking at it years later and then dump it off on Goodwill. 🙂

I think we’re related! I do the same exact thing. I just cant let go! LOL
It looks fine on you, but I understand what you mean. There are some clothes I have that just don’t ‘feel’ right on me even if they look fine.
Author
Exactly! You just know when something feels right. Its not ugly by any means but I just dont like it on me.
I love the bright colors!! It says “summer” to me! Funny how the thinks I like least on me get the most compliments. You rocked it girl!!

I know right! Life is funny that way! 🙂

Awww thank you so much! I like the print, just dont like how the skirt looks on me. 🙁
I think that skirt looks great on you.

Thanks hon! 🙂
Seriously, I think the skirt is flattering on you. Are the bright colors bothering you? The chambray shirt looks great, but if you want to tone it down some more, opt for black top and accessories, and pull eyes up by popping it with an orange necklace. I hope you wear in again!

It wasnt the colors it was the fit. It’s kind of poofy on me. I doubt Ill be wearing it again. It will probably go in my “items to sell” pile.
I think it’s pretty.

Thank you!
Well, if it counts for anything, I LOVE that skirt on you! You manage to wear skirts very well. Me? If I wear a skirt, no matter what, I feel frumpy. I think it’s my shoe collection – it does not lend itself to skirts very well. You are looking fab, as always, Georgette. 🙂 xo
p.s. if you have Facebook and want to add me, my name is Yvette Rydman – I’d love an add!

I’ve bought quite a few items of the internet that have then sat in my cupboard unworn because I didn’t like them on me but I think that skirt is beautiful and you look beautiful in it. I think you are really photogenic and have a great sense of style.

Awww thank you very much! I too have a few items just sitting in my closet. Thats why shopping online can be such a headache!

I love this skirt. Not that many printed fabrics I really like, but this looks good. And fun!
Glad you decided to wear it because it looks fantastic on you!
Hey, I was expecting a tutu before I scrolled down to the picture! I think it looks spectacular on you and I don’t see “poofy” at all. Love the print too!
