Happy Hump Day all!
Hope everyone’s week is going well so far. It snowed this AM but we only got a dusting. This made me happy because shoveling heaps of snow is back breaking work!
I wanted to check in with you to see what you would like to see featured on the blog. Do you want to see more features on trends and how to wear them? How about emphasis on style after 40+? While I’m no fashion expert or stylist, I will try my best to fulfill your requests! So please leave your suggestions in the comment section below!
Have a wonderful day!
I think you need to share your serious shopping mojo with us. I look at you and think – I need to shop where she shops! Where are the good finds, for those of us who are plus sized and over 40?
Author
Absolutely I will share the wealth! Keep a lookout for this! Thank you for taking the time out to make a suggestion!
I’d love some fashion ideas for 50 + and some things for women with bad legs, short dresses aren’t pretty if you have icky legs…thanks!

Your wish is my command! Im working on your post tonight! Thank you so much for your suggestion!
One of the things I like about your blog is you introduce me to various stores or on-line shopping websites. In fact, I have purchased a few items you have worn!
Author
GREAT! I love it! You must send me a pic of what you’ve bought!
I love reading your blog and have no suggestions. I’m not a fashionista in any sense of the word, but I love seeing how you put stuff together. 🙂

Awww thank you Ruth! I so look forward to your wonderful comments! Thank you for being a loyal reader! 🙂
I love reading your blog and don’t have any unique suggestions but I would definitely like the 40+ fashion ideas. Not that I’m 40+…it’s for a friend (ha!).

Thank you Leslie! I will definitely do a post for 40+ fashion ideas!
You always look so well put together. I’d love to take a peek inside your closet! Speaking of which, do you have any tips on closet organization? Your outfits always look so cohesive and well thought out I was wondering how you do it. Do you arrange things by category (shirts, skirts, etc.), colors, pieces that go together? Do you pick out your clothes the night before? Call me crazy, but I’m trying to get my closet organized and am not sure how I want to arrange things.
I’m hoping this is a good suggestion!

Hi Rita! I have to confess, my closet is messy and disorganized! BUT I will address this in a post for you. Thank you for reading my blog & making a suggestion!
I love your sense of style and wish I could wear what you wear. I don’t wear many colors but i’m learning from you. I would love to see outfits for the over 40-50 crowd. So many clothes are geared towards younger people and I have a hard time finding examples of outfits for my age group. I tend to be more modest and I’m having a hard time finding examples. Hope you can help. I love your blog and will continue to read it! Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to make a suggestion.

I completely agree about clothing being geared towards younger women. I will focus on that because that has been an issue Ive been struggling with as of late. Thank you for your great suggestion!!!
Please please more features on fashion over 40! One of my favorite things about your blog is your grown up yet adventurous style. I’d also like to see a feature on your hair AND I agree with Rita – it would be interesting to see how you organize your wardrobe.
Eagerly waiting, LOL!

I will definitely focus more on fashion over 40! I hate to disappoint you and Rita but I am TERRIBLY disorganized and my closet looks like Godzilla ran through it! Clothes are everywhere…LOL
I definitely check in with you everyday to see what you are wearing! 40+ dressing is sooooo hard to get right without being boring, but you consistently hit it out of the park! I also get so much information from you on where to find clothes I can wear- thank you so much. That is often the most depressing part of shopping for me- I have no idea where to find what looks good on me, so I begin to feel like maybe I should just “make do” with stuff I find in my local stores that looks bad. I also find it super helpful when you take one item and show me how to wear it a bunch of different ways. That is hard for me to do on my own. Thanks for everything 🙂

No thank you for this AWESOME comment! Im so happy that I can help you. That was my goal with this blog, to show women that you can be stylish at any age and size! Thank you!!!
style after 40+

Will do!
How about style for over 50 and over short, lol. I’m only 5′-2″ and shrinking fast. I don’t know how tall you are but you certainly look statuesque in your photos. Whatever tips you can share would be greatly appreciated Thanks!
Author
I will definitely research this topic and post about it. Thank you for your suggestion!
I really enjoy seeing the mixing and matching (and also refashioning) of clothes you already own. It gives me new ideas for my own wardrobe, I can get in such a rut wearing the same outfits.

Thank you so much! I really struggle shopping my own closet. I love clothes but I need to check my closet first!
Late to this, but yes: style over 40! I have no idea what is “appropriate” (and maybe that’s my problem — worrying about appropriateness). You always look so great. I think you would hijack me for “What Not to Wear” if you could see me! 😀
I do love that you always divulge where you’ve found your pieces of clothing. That’s very helpful. Anyway, love the blog — carry on! 🙂
Author
Awww! You are the only person who can determine what is “appropriate”. I believe you should wear what feels and looks good to you. Being over 40 doesnt mean you cant be stylish! Check out my latest post and let me know what you think!
I would like to see something about camouflaging a fuller stomach! My stomach is my problem area and I am always looking for ways to distract from that area. I am always looking for a good shaper, but can never get one I think does a good job.
Author
Thank you for your suggestion! I find that ruching and draping is good for camouflaging a fuller stomach. Kiyonna (www.kiyonna.com) has wonderful ruched shirts that compliment women with a full stomachs. Also have you tried peplum? The extra material covers the lower belly.
Here are a few sites that offer plus size shapewear. Hopefully you can find a shaper that works for you!
