Happy Hump Day all!
Whoever created the saying “you need a vacation from the vacation” wasn’t lying! Im still daydreaming about exotic drinks, warm sun and sandy beaches. We get so caught up with our jobs, responsibilities and family we forget to take care of ourselves. It felt wonderful not be worried about stuff and just be in the moment. My time away reminded me that its okay to take a break from life. I promised myself to try and go on a vacation at least every 6-8 months. I won’t let another 2 1/2 years go by before I take another break.
How do you “get away from it all”?

Ooh, every 6-8 months. I love that idea! My problem is that all of my “vacations” are very active vacations…either with family or at an event (like when I went to the Essence Fest – constant activity)! I am trying to sneak in a last minute beach vacation in September…a time to do absolutely NOTHING!

September is the best time to do a beach vacation because the prices are ridiculously low and there are no screaming children running around messing up your relaxation time!
That outfit is cool, comfortable and right for an Island evening stroll. Maybe not every 6 months but every year you should get away, I usually book more than 6 months in advance and pay monthly (my layaway plan).

Thank you! Wearing it reminded me of my vacation. I tend to take one big vacation & then one small 3-4 day getaway. I travel off season for the best deals to get more bang out of my buck. Plus Groupon and Living Social have amazing getaway deals for reasonable prices.

You look so summery. I’m glad spring is on the way here. The wattles and jonquils are all out in full force bloom as we had a warm snap for a few days and it’s now cold again. My cheeks are stinging from a brisk walk with the dog this morning. I will miss winter but do love spring and autumn. Summer can go eff itself though as it gets rediculously hot here.
