I was in a funky mood when I arrived to work this morning because the roof of my house is leaking (which I thought I had fixed) and has caused some minor damage to my guest room. I was bitching about the cost of repairs, the price of home ownership, yadda, yadda, yadda until my co-worker told me about the massacre in Colorado. Hearing what happened instantly shut me up. It reminded me how fragile life is and how much we take it for granted. So while my leaky roof is a pain, I’ll deal with it and be grateful for the life that God has given me.
My prayers and thoughts are with the with the victim’s and their families of this tragedy.
Yes sometimes we have to be “put in our place” by events that happen to others. Ours are so trivial compared to what other people are going through. So sad for those families.
