Happy Hump Day all!
Over the weekend I traveled to Fort Lauderdale with my older sister and my friend Tamera for a mini Summer getaway. This was my first time visiting Fort Lauderdale. I’ve only been to Orlando to visit Disney World and Miami for a cruise. I’ve heard so many great things about Florida beaches and lemme tell ya compared to the Jersey shore, their beaches are a SO much better. It felt wonderful to be in water that didn’t look like sludge.
For our mini break we chose to stay at the Sonesta Fort Lauderdale which is close to multiple restaurants and about a 10-15 minute walk to the Galleria Mall. The hotel is situated down Fort Lauderdale Beach Blouveard (also known as The Strip) away from the clubs and bars. This was fine for me because I cannot stand noise when I’m trying to sleep. The room was spacious and very neat. The view from the room was FANTASTIC as it faced the beach. The beach is right across the street and the hotel provides beach chairs but charges you $20 to rent an umbrella and $12 for an additional chair (whomp). Luckily there is a beach shop next to the hotel and you can buy an umbrella for $10!
Overall I had a pleasant experience at the Sonesta and would recommend it if you plan to visit Fort Lauderdale. Although our stay was brief, I had so much fun hanging with my sister and Tamera. This mini break was just what I needed!
Have a wonderful day!
