Weekend Edition: Savvy Summer with London Times!

Happy Monday all!

Philadelphia comes alive in the Summer with block parties, street festivals and outdoor concerts. On Sunday afternoon my friend Tawanda and I went to the annual Odunde Festival celebrating African culture.  It was a bright sunny day perfect for a street festival.  Since I’m participating  in  London Times “Savvy Summer” campaign, I decided to wear their comfortable  blouson dress to the outing (without the heels of course!).  Tawanda and I had a great time  listening to music, eating good food and enjoying each others company.

How was your weekend?

Have a wonderful day!

5 Things I’m Loving Right Now

Happy Hump Day all!

1. Eshakti Dresses

Eshakti
I’m going to need a second job to afford my love for Eshakti’s fab dresses! The best thing  about Eshakti is that ALL of their clothing (skirts, shirts, dresses and jackets) go up to a size 36! Plus they can customize any dress to fit your measurements. How great is that?!

2.
ruzzle
I didnt think any game could surpass my love for “Words With Friends” but “Ruzzle” has! My nickname is “bxphlgal” if you wanna play!

3. “Justified”:

justified, f/x, drama, tv drama, timothy olyphant, us marshal,

One of the BEST dramas on television right now (next to Scandal of course!).   The series is about US Deputy Marshall Raylan Givens trying to enforce the law and old demons in  Kentucky.  Superb acting, complex characters and explosive storylines are the highlight of this show. I highly recommend checking  this gem out on Tuesday nights at 10pm on FX.

4. Museums:  I love museums but I don’t get to visit them as much as Id like, so this Spring Im going to make up for lost time.  I have trips planned to the Barnes Foundation (here in Philly), the Guggenheim, the Museum of Sex (yes its a real museum! lol) and the Studio Museum of Harlem.

5. Fun, flirty necklaces:

Me & Gwynnie Bee

Happy Hump Day all!

Today my BFF invited me to a lecture given by actor Hill Harper (CSI:NY) at the university where she works.  Luckily I didn’t have to worry about what to wear because I received my Gwynnie Bee package yesterday.  In my package was a  geo print faux  wrap dress from INC (sold at Macy’s), so I decided to wear it to the lecture.  This is my second go around with Gwynnie Bee.  I initially subscribed to Gwynnie Bee back in December but decided to cancel my subscription due to my dissatisfaction with the clothing .  After receiving an email from Gwynnie Bee  offering another subscription trial, I decided to try again.

The wonderful thing about Gwynnie Bee is that you have access to all kinds of clothing from various different brands.   I had my eye on this INC dress for a while and when I saw it on Gwynnie Bee’s site I scooped it up.   It’s clear the dress is made for the Spring because the fabric is thin and light. The dress was too big at the top so to avoid  my bra being exposed,  I wore a black tank underneath.  The A line skirt flows and doesn’t cling to your lower half.  The geo print is very trendy and stylish but  appropriate for the workplace.

If you like having a huge wardrobe of clothing at your disposal then definitely head over to Gwynnie Bee!

Have a wonderful evening!

P.S. I want to thank my handsome 12yr old godson for taking my pictures today!
