Up In Arms

Happy Monday all!

All my friends and family know I absolutely hate being hot. My entire personality changes when I’m hot and sweaty.  So I do what is necessary to be comfortable.  Therefore covering up my arms during the Summer is not an option for me.  I’ve learned not to care about what others may think of my fat, jiggly arms. My comfort level is way more important than what some stranger may think about me.   I totally understand it’s hard for some plus women to wear their arms out.  We are conditioned to believe our bodies are disgusting and should be covered up.  It took me years to become comfortable with wearing sleeveless clothing   Once I freed myself from those negative thoughts, it was easy wear clothing my helped me to stay cool during the Summer.  We all know self acceptance is easier said than done. I still struggle with accepting certain parts of my body.  But when it comes to my arms I’m 100% comfortable exposing them for the world to see.

Have a wonderful day!

Love it! The dress, bag, all of it. You look cool and lovely. I totally agree with you in regard to previously always covering my jiggly parts, wearing foundation garments in the heat, etc. I’ve finally come to the realization that being comfortable in the heat is paramount to me as well. Wearing a pretty outfit with nice accessories that keeps me cool doesn’t mean everyone is judging my not-model-thin body. In fact I’ve even received compliments on an outfit from strangers who obviously weren’t looking at whatever body parts I’d previously been hesitant not to cover☺️

I used to think that even short sleeve helped to distract from my fat, lumpy upper arms. Who was I kidding other than myself!? This year I bought three new sleeveless tops. They are so nice and cool! There is so much freedom in not having to worry about what others may think and instead just being yourself, ‘flaws’ and all.
BTW, you look so nice and comfy in that lovely dress. I admire your style!

Oh my gosh, you look fabulous! I have always covered my arms being taught that a body over thirty just needed more coverage. So I get it! LOVE your blog! So liberating and shows that women are all sizes, and shapes are beautiful. Thank you for the courage.
