Practice What You Preach

TGIF all!

Since eShakti’s   tropical floral print crop top and skirt debuted earlier this Summer I’ve been smitten.  So when  eShakti contacted me about reviewing one of their  items I knew I had to have it.   But when it  came time to order I got cold feet.   I was allowing thoughts about being “too old” for a crop top hinder me from trying something new.   I finally decided to practice what I preach and make the trend work for me.   I had eShakti  customize the set to my measurements and changed the skirt  from above the knee to midi length (my favorite!).   I’ve had dresses customized by eShakti in the past and this was by far  the best job they’ve done. The  crop top overlaps with the high waist skirt so my wobbly bits (yes I’m quoting Bridget Jones!) aren’t exposed.  I found the skirt  a bit too long but a trip to the seamstress will fix that.   I’ll definitely  get a lot of wear out of the set, especially the skirt.  I’m really proud of myself for not giving into negative thinking.  If I had stuck to a safe option, I would’ve been kicking myself later on for being a chicken!

What  Summer trend have you tried that was a move outside your comfort zone?

Have a wonderful day!

Is it Friday? What? I thought it was Monday. But you do look marvelous in that outfit.

Thank you hon! Your eyes are not deceiving you. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I corrected it immediately!

Since I retired, I hardly ever know what day it is. But I knew it wasn’t Friday. 😀

You are happy, stylish & chic and it shows. I said I would never wear a crop top and so far I have not. But you make this crop top look so stylish. . .I may have to eat my words.

Great post! I love that you went for the crop top and skirt but made customizations to make it work for you. I’m loving the separates trend, and these are pieces you can pair together or with other separates in your closet. Got to love pieces with that kind of mileage! That crop might be fun with your white midi skirt from Eloquii, too!

That is such a gorgeous outfit. I actually wore a crop top with high-waisted jeans the other day and had a very similar conversation with myself about being too old. I’m glad I wore it though.

You look so cute!!! Can you put that in my trade bag?!?! Thanks! lololol!

You look great! Love this set, you’ll definitely get mileage out of the pieces separately, too. I tried eShakti several months ago, but the site gave me a headache and I gave up before I could order anything. (Also, I sew, so there’s minimal incentive for me to pay someone else to make me something custom sized).

Thank you so much! I wish I could sew! You are so lucky to know to do it!

Lovely set. I actually think the skirt length is just right, too, for this set.
