30 Plus Style: Cutting It Short

Happy Monday all!

As the title states, shorts are the focus of today’s 30 Plus Style collaboration.   Like me, some of you have had issues with wearing them.  For a few Summers, I stopped wearing shorts  because I didn’t want to show my legs. When I finally decided to wear them again, I opted to wear  shorts that came under my knee.  After years of wearing them, I decided to try above the knee shorts this Summer.  This is a big step for me because I had grown comfortable with covering my legs.  I’m a big fan of Talbots because they offer shorts in  lengths from 7 to 13 inches. I chose the 9 inch length  because while they were above the knee, they still provided me we coverage. Another benefit of the shorter length is that they made my legs look longer.   I’m glad I took a chance and decided to make a change!

We are looking for guest bloggers to join us on a future 30 Plus Style post, for consideration contact us at 30plusstylecollab@gmail.com and be sure to include your blog’s URL.

I think your legs look just great! I have those very same shorts in 5 colours. I am a fellow Talbots fan so I know just what you mean. I had tried their longer bermuda shorts as well but decided they made my already short legs look stumpy.
Rock the shorts! You look fab. 🙂

Thank you! I totally understand what youre talking about. No more long bermuda shorts for me! 🙂

You look great! I don’t like the ‘long’ shorts on me as I’m short to begin with and they shorten my legs. I like them mid thigh, but those are really hard to find in plus sizes. Or maybe the ones I have are really supposed to be mid thigh – for a regular or tall person! 🙂

Ruth, try Talbots shorts. They come in a variety of lengths and in plus size. I have found that instead of covering up my legs, wearing shorts that actually fit my body but are shorter in length is much better. I avoid the tree trunk look!

I completely agree with Mary. Talbots has something for everyone!

Love the color and style, too. I’ve been looking for some decent shorts that are stylish and classy — Thanks for the Talbots info! I haven’t worn shorts in years for lack of confidence and poor body image. I’m working to change that. Glad you decided to show off your knees. Great legs, girl!

Thank you! Im glad youre working on improving your confidence & poor body image. It’s a true struggle learning to love ourselves when we get constant messages tell us to do otherwise. Please keep working towards your goal and you will achieve it.

They are such great shorts that hold up over time. They’re on sale right now for $23.99 at Talbots.

You look great! And yep, shorter hemlines and nude shoes in any height are great way to look taller and leggier. 🙂
