Casual Friday: Never Let Go

TGIF all!

I decided to do another outfit post today because I absolutely HATED the quality of my pics yesterday.   I’m still learning how to utilize my camera more effectively and  yesterday it was too overcast to take a good picture.  I pride myself having good quality pictures on the blog and it was nagging me that they sucked (to me anyways).

So I wanna give a little background on the top I’m wearing today.  I bought this blouse from Torrid back in 2008 for my trips to Punta Cana and Las Vegas.  Six years later this blouse has held up wonderfully.  No rips, pulls or tears. Just good quality clothing.  The blouse I believe was around $50 and while I moaned about the price at the time, I have surely gotten my $50 worth out of it. I have no plans of ever parting with it….so dont even ask! LOL

I wish I did! My weight has been ALL over the place. There are a few old pieces that are sentimental that I have retained, but since I can’t wear them I can’t say that I wont let the go. Well I suppose my Blood Suede Pumps are in that category. They’re just diva, even if I can’t wear them often in Seattle because of the weather.

I do have favorite pieces but most of them wore out long ago! 🙁

That skirt is epic! I have a denim jacket I am unnaturally attached to. It’s 8 years old and disintegrating. I’ve finally bought a new one but I can’t bear to part with the old one.

Thank you so much! I know how you feel about your denim jacket. I could never ever part with mine!

    Hi there,
I found your blog by accident – was looking for a leopard-print dress, saw your pic on the balcony in a gorgeous dress, came here… Wow! You are an amazingly brave, beautiful, smart and adorable person! Thank you! Sent your pics to my mum, she laughed with joy and asked me – “why cannot you be like her?” I am battling with some extra weight since I was 12, and it’s soooo revealing and liberating to see someone like you – gorgeous, happy, smiling, and enjoying her life. How can I learn your secret? What is it? Please, tell us all. Because we all want to be this positive!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my Monday morning,
    Tamara

Hello Tamara! I’m glad you found my blog! Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! I’m so happy I could make your Monday morning. I’ve battled with self esteem issues ever since I was a teenager. I didn’t find the courage to accept myself until after I got sick at 3yrs ago. When I saw the outpouring of love from my family and friends towards me, it made me think “if they can love me, why cant I love myself?”. That is where my journey began. Trust me it’s not easy being body positive in this world but I know my worth. I just know that being plus size woman isnt the only thing that defines me. I know Im more than just a number on the scale. Once you believe that, everything else will fall into place!
