Casual Friday: I DO Have Something To Wear

TGIF all!

“I have nothing to wear!”…sounds familiar? I know for me it is.  I proclaim this almost on a daily basis.  While I quickly correct myself, it’s a belief that has triggered many shopping sprees.   After reading My Curves & Curls post “Closet Remix: How to Wear 10 Pieces 20 Ways”, I had to fess up to how greedy I’ve become (again) with clothes.   To say I have an abundance of clothes is an understatement.  So instead of continuing to add to my overstuffed closet, I’m  focusing on the items I already have.  The post has inspired to me to remix various pieces in my closet.  My outfit today combines a skirt I’ve unfortunately only worn once (here) with an old striped tee. Had I not been inspired to remix my closet by Curves & Curls, these two would’ve never met!

How do you remix your wardrobe?

Have a wonderful weekend!

I love your outfit! I have a question for you regarding denim. I had to go to a denim party recently so went to the op shop and bought a long denim flared skirt, and also a black denim jacket. I teamed it up with a tee very similar with what you are wearing now, but was wondering your opinion of black denim with blue denim? (like, wearing the black denim jacket with blue denim jeans or the skirt I bought to wear to the party). The outfit I wore to the party looked awesome, imho, but I am not sure if the rest of the world would have appreciated it. What do you think?

Black and blue always work well together! If YOU liked how you looked, then the rest of world will have to fall in line…live for yourself 🙂

Thank you! I checked out your post & I think its awesome you have gotten so much out of your lace shirt. For me I wear my striped blazer ALL…THE…TIME. I wear it with skirts, jeans, dresses, pants and even shorts. Its probably one of my favorite items of clothing.

Yes you do have plenty things to wear, and I have seen you looking just GREAT in them all. I can’t wait to see your summer selections. . .

You are so right! It’s been fun remixing my wardrobe. It’s teaching me to be creative & appreciative of what I do have!

You are such a cutie! Love this outfit, all the bright colors and pattern of the skirt. How fun is that I posted a somewhat similar outfit just last night. 🙂 I am at the point when I mostly want to mix and remix what I have, though I can see a few new pieces for summer. 🙂
    Have a splendid weekend, dear!

Love seeing you wear that custom skirt again! I’m the exact opposite, I have only a small wardrobe, and I like it that way. Remixing is a way of life for me — the challenge is breathing new life into a really old garment that’s in good condition but been worn a million times! I’ve worn tops as pencil skirts, turned shirts around, layered … you name it. It’s not the clothes, it’s the woman in them! 😉

I so agree with your statement “Its not the clothes, its the woman in them”. Im slowly learning that lesson. Thank you for your great comment! 🙂

I want to rock this style so bad but where I live people are stuck on the matchy matchy and I don’t want to deal with the stares and pointing (yes childish grown folks) but none the less one day I just might show them how its done. Love this look!

I completely understand what you’re talking about. Ive had that happen to me several times but I shrug it off & keep going. It’s okay if people don’t get what you’re wearing but as long as you feel comfortable I say GO FOR IT!
