City of Light Pt. 1

Happy Tuesday everyone!

For the past four years my travel buddy Kim and I have tried unsuccessfully to go Paris but for some  reason or another, we couldn’t make it happen…until now. Paris was everything I expected it to be. Beautiful, full of culture and vibrant.  I definitely understand how people fall in love with this wonderful city and never want to leave.  Although we were only there for four days, I never felt rushed or hurried during my visit. We we’re comfortable with the fact that we weren’t going to see everything.  Instead we focused on what we wanted to see and made the most of it.

We stayed at the wonderful Hotel Atmospheres in the Latin Quarter (an   EXCELLENT boutique hotel that came highly recommended through TripAdvisor!)    The hotel was in walking distance from the Pantheon, Notre Dame Cathedral  and Luxemburg Gardens.  Another plus of staying in the Latin Quarter area was the two Metro lines near the hotel. We had unlimited use of the Metro due to us having the Paris Pass so getting around the city was literally a piece of cake.  I was told by people who had visited Paris  that the Metro was easy and they were right. After a few train rides, we became masters of the Metro! LOL

Friday was dedicated to exploring Louvre and Musee d’Orsay. Both museums are so vast you can spend an entire day there and still not see everything. Kim & I opted to take the tour of the Louvre which was highly informative. I oohed and aahed at the works of Monet, Degas, Da Vinci and gorgeously crafted sculptures. I’m a huge museum nerd so visiting both these places were the highlight of my year! Kim and I ended our fab day by hanging out at the Trocadero and taking a nighttime cruise of the Seine.

I’ll be posting part two of my visit to Paris tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day!

I am so jealous! I don’t know how you could pick out of all there is to offer. I would have a hard time only being there for 4 days!!

It was hard to pick but we knew we couldnt see everything so we only focused on the “must sees” on our list. Trust me we have plans to go back & see the stuff we couldnt get to!

Oh what beautiful photos, they look like post cards! How lucky you are to have seen original masterpieces, such as the Mona Lisa, in person. Thanks for sharing your trip with us!

Great pics! I was recently in Paris for one day, but it was the butt end of my trip, I was tired, lonely and practically broke so it was blah. These pics make me want to get back there soon!
