3 Trends To Try This Spring

Happy Monday all!

With Spring arriving in the next 3 weeks (HALLELUJAH!) a new crop of trends have popped up.  I like trends, so I usually pick two or three that I like to try for the season.  I don’t allow my age (42) to stop me from having fun with them and you shouldn’t either. Sometimes being worried about “dressing our age” can stifle our creativity and stop us from wearing something different.  Try not to think about how you’re supposed to dress and pick a trend that works within your comfort level.  Just like I  believe you should wear clothes that feel good to you, you should choose a trend that will also invoke the same feeling .   To help you get started, here are three trends I think would work on women of all ages and sizes.

What Spring trend or trends are you excited to try?

Have a wonderful day!

1. Florals:

Floral prints are no longer a dirty word for plus size women.  The new prints are romantic, colorful and fun.  If you are on the fence about wearing them, start off simple with a shirt or a skirt.  If you are all in, a smart floral print dress is the perfect way to usher in the Spring!

2. Black & White:

You can never, EVER go wrong with black & white.  The classic combo is getting a major update with on trend prints and silhouettes.  Always wanted to mix prints but didn’t think you could pull it off?   Wearing different black & white prints together is a safe and easy way to do this. However you decide to wear it,  you will look sleek and sophisticated!

3. Pastels:

Pastels are going to be HUGE this Spring. These soft colors are easy to wear and are wonderful together.  Wanna wear two trends in one outfit? Add a floral print flat to your pastel outfit for a whimsical touch.   Add a white blazer or jacket to it and you are well on your way to being on trend for Spring.

I absolutely love the idea of the black & white trend and I’m going to add the pastels to it! The floral print still has to grown on me though 🙂 But what I can’t wait to buy this week from Payless is a pair of the PeepChic sandals – which I think can work so well with different looks, from girly to working and just fun in between! This is my must-have for the Spring (and probably Summer) in a few styles & colors!

Oh! And the Christian Siriano line has some super cute flats in the style you like!

By the way, I think you’re so awesome and I always look forward to your posts!

Keep doing it like you do because you do it so well, which inspires all of your curvy fashionista followers!

Cool stuff. And speaking of dressing for one’s age – why? I don’t dress or act my age because as that old joke goes, I don’t know how as I’ve never been this age before. 🙂

Maybe we should dress (inside) for Spring early to help chase the polar vortex away…! 😛
