Shining Through

Happy Hump Day all!

Sorry I’ve been a little MIA these past two weeks.  I’ve been going through some personal issues that honestly I had been ignoring for years. It’s very easy to put up a facade of being okay when things are not okay. What I’ve learned over  the past couple of weeks is that taking care of oneself emotionally is just as important as taking care of yourself physically.  You can’t ignore one and concentrate on the other, you have to take care of the whole package.  At this point in my life I’m learning how to take care of the whole package. Lemme tell ya it aint easy but I’m determined to work through my “stuff” with the appropriate supports.  I’m blessed with a wonderful support system that surrounds me and accepts me for who I am which makes  my journey  a little easier.

With all that said, blogging is something I love doing and will continue to do so.  Blogging has given me so much and to abandon it is not an option.  I will do my best to keep my blogging schedule up but if I slip here and there, dont be alarmed…Im not going anywhere!

Have a wonderful day!

Great outfit and it looks fabulous on you. I can’t stress enough how important it is to take care of yourself physically, emotionally, and spiritually. If you ignore any one of these, you are out of balance. Take good care of yourself; you’re the only you this world has seen or will ever see. 🙂

Take all the time you need to take care of yourself. Physical and emotional well-being work hand in hand. As I get older (couple more months I’ll be 50) I’m convinced of it. I’ll still be here to check out your fabulous outfits, like the one you’re wearing today! Be good to yourself!

treat yo self this holiday season! you look so pretty in this outfit-i hope i can try to pull off something similar. i am in btwn straight and plus size right now (14)…and since i’ve had depression for years, i still dont value myself enough to buy nice clothes. you are giving me hope to do that step by step. thank you and merry christmas to you.

Thank you so much! I can honestly relate when you say “I still dont value myself enough to buy nice clothes.” For many years I struggled with depression and low self esteem. I know what its like to not love who you are. I just want to tell you that it does get better and that you will slowly learn to value yourself. It took me 40 years and a major surgery to catapult me into accepting myself. Trust me I still struggle with self esteem and depression but I know deep inside me that I am worth it. I hope you find that light inside of you so you can shine bright.
