Casual Friday: An Oldie But A Goodie

TGIF all!

When mother nature decided to  plunge temperatures into the 30s this morning, I instantly went to my standby coat to keep me warm. I bought this Old Navy coat about 3 years ago and I gotta say, this was BEST coat they have ever made. In the 3 years I’ve had this coat, I’ve only had to replace two buttons.  To me that proves the point that quality doesn’t have to cost you an arm and a leg.  I have no doubt this you’ll be seeing this coat in more posts to come!

What is your oldie but a goodie?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Those colors are amazing together! And the necklace is the perfect accent piece. I have a boring black coat 🙁 I wish I had a colorful one now…

Thank you! When I bought this coat I had never had any other color except brown. I still have a wool black coat that I spruce up with brooches to keep it from being boring. Maybe you can try that to make your coat less boring?

I hadn’t thought of that! Great idea! I’ll see what I can come up with and maybe post it when I get it finished 🙂 thanks for the suggestion!

Not many occasions here to wear a coat, but I would love that one!! I don’t think I even own a coat – a couple of jackets and a few sweaters is all I have. But I have been know to wear a long-sleeved blouse now and again. 🙂

Love the orange on you! I have a denim jacket from Dorothy Perkins that I have had for a good five years and I still wear it all the time in in the Autumn. It goes with everything.

Thank you! I know what you mean about your Dorothy Perkins denim jacket. I absolutely love mine!

Love these colors on you! And coat – what a great cut. I was at the Talbots outlet and saw a coat in that orangey-coral color – so pretty!

Thank you so much! Talbots has such great coats. An orange-coral coat would definitely brighten up any cold Winter day!

I love your blog! I just stumbled upon it today searching “plus size pencil skirt outfit” and I love your style! I have a wedding coming up in 2 weeks and I ordered this skirt: http://downeastbasics.com/lacepencilskirt.aspx . I love the color & the fit is great (I’m size 16/18) but I have no idea what to pair it with. I love the cardigan/belted look. Do I do a solid colored blouse with a printed cardi? Or printed blouse with a solid cardi? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, fashion isn’t my strong point!
    Thanks!

Hello Shan! Thank you for your kind comment! I checked out the skirt & I love it! I think it would be great with a belted cardigan and blouse. I think a printed blouse & solid cardigan wont take away from the skirt. I think a printed cardigan might take attention away from that great skirt. Another option is dressing it up with a silk blouse, statement necklace and heels. What about a fitted blazer instead of the cardigan? 🙂

Hope I was helpful! And thank you for stopping by my blog!
