I’m all about supporting plus size fashion events . I think these events further tear down stereotypes of curvy women and show that we are just as fabulous as anyone else. Curvy Closets 2013 is such an event. Curvy Closets was created by Domonique Revere-Lincoln CEO of Empress Lingerie and Colleen Stovall blogger/model of Short Curvy Fierce to showcase the best plus size designers to the masses. The event also raises funds for deserving charities that are doing meaningful work. This charity selected this year is Hairless 4 Her Awareness, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting breast cancer awareness through community outreach. The charity also offers support and serves as a vital resource for women under 40 struggling with breast cancer. In addition to being a charity fashion show, Curvy Closets is having for the first time a student designer competition for aspiring plus size designers. How cool is that? And did I mention the event is being hosted by the gorgeous Allison Mcgevna, one of the hottest plus size models around?
So with ALL that said, if you are in the Philadelphia area or live close to Pennsylvania (that includes you New Yorkers!) come out to this fantastic gala on October 12th. I hope to see you there!
