Accentuate the Positive

Happy Hump Day all!

I woke up feeling pretty crummy this morning. Lately I’ve been having some personal issues that have been overshadowing the good things in my life. It’s amazing how when one small thing goes wrong it can throw you off balance. Instead of using my outfit make me feel better I decided to focus on the great things in my life. I’m blessed to have  relatively good health, a roof over my head and a wonderful support system of family and friends. My self-esteem is the highest it’s ever been and I’m constantly growing as a person. While there are things I wish were different in my life, I can’t dwell on them. So today I’m making an effort to not focus on the negative and concentrate on the positive. Honestly it’s hard to do but I’m definitely on my way to changing my crummy mood.

How do you overcome a crummy mood?

Have a wonderful day!

I’m with you, when I have those moments, I let it happen, breathe, acknowledge why it sucks and then focus on what I have, my family who love me, that I have food in the cupboards, beds for my children (after my first marriage broke up I was left with nothing, but I had everything, my daughter, It was one of those moments which empowered me and I have been grateful for everything since) I think being positive becomes a natural habit the more we excercise it – btw I think you are awesome! x

This probably isn’t helpful, but I find that allowing myself to feel sad or frustrated or whatever is the best possible medicine. Positive thinking is great, but every day won’t be good — it’s just a fact of life.

I find that allowing myself to feel my hurt/pain/whatever brings me a peace of mind that enables me to think more clearly, and either work through the problem or move on to something else if it can’t be worked through.

    But everyone is different!

I think you have the right attitude so you can soon overcome the hurdles that inevitably come our way in life. Its easier to focus on the negative things in life but once you learn not to dwell on them, it makes a big difference to our outlook. I was packing my son s lunch for school this morning and thinking that what I sometimes take for granted and complain as being too monotonous is something that many others crave for but don t have in their lives. So we have to learn to appreciate the little things in life and smile and walk with our heads held high.

Thank you so much for sharing. I totally know what you mean when you say we take things for granted. Im learning not to take things for granted and to be appreciative of what I have.

I’ve been feeling pretty down on life as well lately. It just took a few of my closest friends to remind me of all that I had to be proud of and happy about. I’m on a long road to finding self peace and confidence, but I’m getting there!

Also, as always you look wonderful, dear. 🙂

I think you should write one more blog about how you get such amazing deal on your clothes. That skirt is killer, and for $21? What? Did you get multiples this time too? Heck, I would…

    • August 1, 2013 / 8:34 pm
