Too Much of a Good Thing

Happy Hump Day all!

I have to confess…I’m  completely in love with stripes!  I own striped dresses, skirts, shirts and a blazer (yeah I know its out of control!)  I feel wearing stripes instantly transforms anything you pair it with.   So when I saw this  Dorothy Perkins  midi skirt, I was in stripe heaven!   Its funny when I look back , I used to avoid   stripes  like the plague.  Now I wear them at least once a week!   Right now  I’m on a  hiatus from stripes  but Im sure that will go out the window once I see another great striped item!

Do you love stripes too?

Have a wonderful day!

I DO love stripes and I love the vertical stripes in this skirt! Right note the only striped pieces I’ve been wearing have been articles from Gwynnie Bee but I’m always on the lookout!

Gwynnie Bee is a great place to experiment because if you dont like it, you just return it without any fuss!

OMG….just love your skirt ! I always notice “stripes” when I’m out and about…..it’s very noticeable and I love the look. I only have one stripped top/short dress (navy and white), though, that I wear with some wild and crazy black/blue stripped leggings…..fun !

The leggings and striped dress sounds awesome! I love navy& white stripes. So nautical & fun!

I adore stripes and this skirt is indeed wonderful. Looks very good on you. Although we are quite different, I would have bought it too.

Let me just tell you how hard you are rocking this outfit! It is an Ozfest level of rock! If you were to describe this to me I would say “um – no.” But seeing it, love love love!
The stripes, cut and length lengthen your legs, and make you look amazing. I love the blue, especially how your shoes pick up the necklace. Way to go!
Also the hair! Oh I am loving your hair!
So how hard are you rocking this? My face has melted you rocked it so hard.

I’m so glad! I told my girlfriend about your post. I said ” first let me describe this, and then show it to you.”
I described your outfit and she said “NO!”
Then I spun my computer around and she could not stop raving!
She agrees, you rocked that so hard you were an entire rock festival!

Love the outfit! I too am loving stripes. Most of the stripes I’ve been seeing lately have been in tops and they are horizontal. It’s nice to see the vertical ones in the skirt. I love the crispness of the lines. And as long as you’re rocking the stripes like you are, I say keep in wearing them!

    • May 23, 2013 / 3:42 pm

Thank you hon! I too have noticed only horizontal stripes. This skirt is the first Ive seen with vertical stripes.

How cute!!!! (stripey skirt ain’t bad, either. hehe). Looking good, Georgette. I far prefer dots over stripes, and avoided stripes like the plague when I was younger as, according to my mother, they make you look fat. lol. I actually do really like black and white stripes these days and have a few items sporting them. 🙂

Yay! I LOVE black & white stripes! They are so classic and fun!

le sigh- beautiful, beautiful skirt which you totally look divine in – I also had a brief patch when I thought I shouldn’t wear stripes (big boobs an all!) and this is why I love blogs because of inspiring women like you – it is a big deal to be empowered to wear clothes you love, and to build on the confidence it brings, i’m off to vote for you, good luck x

Great look! Since Dortohy Perkins is a UK company, right? Did you have to pay customs fees?

    • May 24, 2013 / 5:31 pm

Thank you! Yes Dorothy Perkins is a UK company but I didnt have to pay customs.
