Busy Bee

Happy Monday all!

Usually my weekends are slow but this past weekend I was quite the busy bee!

On Friday Shonna (my BFF) asked me to judge a talent show for her students and I accepted.  There’s nothing like being around a bunch of 18-20 year olds to remind you how old and out of step you are! I couldn’t understand half the songs the DJ was playing and the dancing….WOOOOO! Lets just say it gives the term “bump and grind” a whole new meaning! LOL

On Saturday evening, Shonna and I decided to get gussied up and head downtown for dinner.  We went to foodie favorite  Oyster House and proceeded to happily stuff our faces with wonderful seafood.  The lobster bisque I had was the best I’ve tasted in a long time.  Shonna is a  seafood aficionado  so when she gave it a big thumbs up I knew I did a good job picking the restaurant.

Here is what I wore Saturday night:

kohls, faux leather jacket, leopard print, old navy, oxblodd, simply bee, h&m, curvy, curvy women, curvy girls, plus size fashion,

One of my new year resolutions was to get out more and meet new people.  So I signed up for Mahogany Philly on Meetup and went to my first event at the National Constitution Center on Sunday.  The National Constitution Center is a fairly new museum that is dedicated to the history of the US and the Constitution.  Im huge museum nerd and I like to take my time wandering the exhibits so I knew I had to be comfortable.  I kept things colorful and  wore my favorite straight leg jeans, colorful striped tee and a neon cardigan.  I had a great time with the ladies of Mahogany Philly.  I’m looking forward to attending more of their events and meeting  more people!

I did a bunch of shopping mostly. I love the animal print with the green what an unexpected combo that works well! It’s nice to see animal print paired with something other than bright red or mustard. I also like the cardigan and the striped T-shirt, it’s a great casual outfit…

Ever since a co-worker told me that leopard print was a neutral Ive been treating it as such. It pretty much goes with everything!

I attended a blog meet up and had a ball yesterday. I said the same exact thing, it’s very important to have real life relationships and it brings you back to reality. I like art galleries and museums too.

Yes! Those relationships keep me grounded as a person.

Weekend? What weekend? Lol. I worked both days but am now enjoying four days off in a row. For which I will pay upon my return to work as I have an eight day stint looming. Meetup rocks! When I got to the bit where you said you ought meet new people, I immediately thought ‘once I’ve read this, I’ll suggest Meetup in the comments’.. but then discovered you are one step ahead of me! Meetups rock. I’m in a Meetup group called Sisterhood – it’s full of the most amazing and wonderful people, and we have a blast whenever we get together. I’m even organising a couple of events for it, including a photo day out, and a girls night in. 😀

I also made a decision over the weekend. I am going to participate in the World’s Greatest Shave and shave my head to raise money for cancer research. Here is my blog post link to that – have a read and if you are able and willing, I’d LOVE you to repost it to help me spread the word. If not, no problem whatsoever!!!! Have a great day – and I was just thinking yesterday that you had not done a post for a little while. I miss my Grown and Curvy Woman blog posts when they don’t arrive regularly in my inbox!

    Have a great day, Georgette.

Both these outfits are great! I love the deep jewel tones in the first one, and that second one is a great reminder that spring is getting close!!
