Casual Friday/$40 and Under For Spring

TGIF all!

Here are some of my favorite Spring items that are all $40 and under! There are a lot of great clothes out there  for a gal on a budget.  I already have the  JCPenney dress  (worn here) and I LOVE IT!

What are some of your secrets to shopping on a budget?

Have a wonderful weekend!

I shop at discount stores like TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack, Gordmans and I shop at the end of the season, great clearance sales.

Those places have some really great discounts, especially Marshalls!

I shop thrift stores and don’t really pay attention to what’s ‘in’ most of the time. I know what I want and what I’m comfortable in, so that’s usually what I buy. My workplace isn’t the dress-up kind of place; casual and comfortable is what I wear most days.

I wish I could thrift shop. Everytime I go I get so frustrated!

It is definitely time consuming! I think when we are used to shopping regular retail stores, we go into a Thrift Store thinking we will see rows and rows of identical clothes but in different sizes. Instead, we see rows and rows of clothes that may or may not be organized by size! 🙂

Love these suggestions. I wish I had a JCPenny closer to me in Chicago. They are all out in the burbs. I’ll have to check the next time I’m out in the burbs.
BTW, I just ordered a bunch of things online from Lane Bryant. I realize that I have to try things on in store rather than order online. I pretty much have to return all of it.

My JCPenney is in the burbs for me too. It seems like they are attached to huge malls.

I know how you feel about ordering stuff online and not fitting once it gets to you. I ordered a dress from Eloquii & I have to return it for poor fit. *sigh*

Very nice selection – I’ve been looking for the right striped skirt, so am considering this one from Old Navy. Is it a decent weight or is it on the thin side? You always come up with great looks! Probably because your taste seems very similar to mine, LOL! I’m a bargain shopper – I always hit Macys on one day sale – I just bought an Alfani white faux leather jacket with a gold zipper for $40, originally $119. I also do the Ross/Marshalls/TJMaxx thing as others have mentioned. I’ve had some luck with ebay as well but I hate not being able to try things on before purchase so I only buy brands I’m really familiar with. I’d love to get into thrift shopping too but like you, find it really frustrating – mostly because the quality of things I find that fit is not that good….

Thank you! The Old Navy skirt is not thin and has good stretch to it. The Macys One Day Sales are always good to me too!

Those pants are great! I’ve been looking for some chino or khaki style pants that will actually fit my shape with very little luck I may have to give those a shot!
