Casual Friday/Leftover Sparkle Pt. 1

TGIF everyone!

Now that the holidays are over, I’m faced with the dilemma of what  to do with my sequin clothes.   I don’t want to pack my sparkly stuff away just yet so I decided to incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe.  I picked the pencil skirt because it was the  easiest to wear.   To get past the  sequins, I treated  it  like a regular  black skirt.  I wore my denim shirt and v-neck  sweater to make the skirt more casual  (you know I had to have a pop of color!).  I kept my accessories simple with a  chain link necklace and sliver studs in my ears.  I completed my look by wearing opaque tights and pointy toe flats.  Overall I think I did a pretty good job on my first try.  I’m sure there are some things that I could have done differently but in all I’ll give myself a B+ for this assignment!

What would you wear with a sequin skirt?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Nice! I hadn’t thought about a sequined skirt; it’s not something I would necessarily buy. But you did a great job with that outfit!!

Love how that pop of color makes the skirt stand out.

Thank you! I figured the pop of color would work well with the skirt.

The real question is what WOULDN’T I wear and the answer is, There are no limits! I wear my sequins all year round, anytime of the day…actually that statement is in my blog bio 😉

Sequins are one of my basics. I wear them as much as I wear black, so sparkle on!

I love the combining with the great pop of color and don’t forget to add stripes and texture and skin prints, etc.

Yes I know! I think its great that sequins are apart of your basics. I gonna try the skirt with my striped sweater. Thanks for the suggestion!

sparkle makes a day brighter! you look fabulous, i only have 1 sequinned skirt (sad face) but i wear it so much for evenings out, i don’t trust it during daytime and children! mine are a spectacularly messy bunch x

I think what makes it work for a more casual setting is the monochrome pulled together look with the skirt, the tights, and the flats. Love it! (And, as always, I love the pop of color!)

I love this look—work appropriate but fun. I would never have thought to pair such a dressy festive piece this way; it really works.

Thank you! I want women to know that they can have alittle fun with their work wardrobe. Sequins are a great way to do this!
