White Out Part. 2

Happy Hump Day all!

White it is a very polarizing color, either you like it or you hate it.  We’ve been told that we can’t wear white because it’s unforgiving but I reject that notion.  Prior to last year, I had never wore white pants. I was conditioned to believe if I wore a pair they would make me look bigger and highlight my ample thighs.  When I finally decided to buy white pants I was nervous as hell. I was deathly afraid of what people would say about me.    But surprisingly I got nothing but compliments on my ALL white outfit I wore last July (here). After clearing that hurdle,   I embraced wearing white on my bottom and started my search for a white pencil skirt.  It didn’t take me long to find this skirt from Talbots Woman.  Now my next search is for the perfect white dress!

Do you dare to wear white?

Have a wonderful day!

Gotta Have it for Spring

Happy Monday all!

Since I’ve been home recuperating from gallbladder surgery (I’ll be back to work on Thursday), I have been scouring the web for Spring must haves. I picked the items below because I know I’ll get a lot of use throughout the Spring and Summer. I haven’t had a good Spring trench coat in years so that was high on my list. The maxi dress and ankle pants can be worn with blazers and colorful cardigans as the weather warms. The chevron skirt can’t be worn now with opaque tights and my faux leather jacket. As for the flats, who can resist a pair of yellow ones?! I often use yellow as a neutral in many of my outfits so they will get a lot of wear. I’ve been wanting sliver heels because they are a great substitute for white shoes (which don’t look so good on me! LOL).

What are some of your Spring must haves?

Have a great day!

Casual Friday/Fighting Old Man Winter

TGIF all!

Without realizing it, I’m wearing the  winterized version of this outfit I wore back in August.  Winter is my least favorite season so I can get a little gloomy while impatiently waiting for the Spring to come.  This year I plan to continue to wear bright colors and cheery outfits such as this one to keep the “winter blues” away.   I think this Gap blazer I ordered today should help out immensely!

How do you combat the “winter blues”?

My First BlogHer! Pt. 2

Here are my further adventures at BlogHer!

This is what I wore on Saturday.  I knew I was going to out for the entire day (I didn’t get home until after 12am!) so I wanted to be comfortable yet chic.  I’m wearing a Talbots Woman pencil skirt in my favorite color (red), Old Navy denim shirt and sliver jewelry.  I wore flat thong sandals and I’m so glad I did!   If you plan to attend next year, leave the heels at home!

Shout out to my nephew who woke up at 7:00am to take my picture!

After a long day of conferencing, it was time to let our hair hang down and have a good time!  BlogHer had its first fashion show featuring many well-known bloggers gorgeously dressed.   Everyone looked amazing and strutted their stuff down the runway.  The show was inclusive featuring women of different sizes, races and abilities.

I also got to take a picture with a very well known (well at least to your kids!) celebrity! He was very warm and fuzzy!

Chillin with the Lorax! LOL

I had to take a picture of Danyelle . Her outfit was so colorful and fun. Plus she was so sweet when I asked to take her picture.

For me the highlight of the day was meeting fabulous women from various parts of the country.  I was fortunate to have met Michelle , Karla , Erica and Lea (a fellow SUNY Binghamton alumna).  Not only were these ladies beautiful but they were funny as hell! They kept me laughing all night long, making my conference experience even better!

Although I was exhausted when I made it back to my sister’s house, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.  Blogher2013 is going to be in Chicago next July, will I see you there?

Have a wonderful evening!
