Go 4th With Lane Bryant

TGIF all!

I know for a lot of us our July 4th celebrations will be completely different from last year.   Although a lot of July 4th activities such as firework shows have been cancelled many will celebrate close to home or just with immediate family and friends.  Whether you choose to stay local or decide to safely venture out you now have a reason to get dressed up!  Lane Bryant has you covered  this 4th of July. This  Lane Bryant maxi dress  screams classic Americana with it’s gingham print.    Y’all know I love gingham so this dress is right up my alley.  The ruffled hem gives the dress a fun, flirty feminine vibe. It’s super comfortable to wear all day long (trust me I wore it all day after I took this picture!) and has pockets!  Right now the dress is on sale for 40 bucks.  So treat yourself this 4th of July!

Have wonderful and safe holiday weekend!

Social Distance Fun With Catherines

TGIF all!

Now that Summer is pretty much in full swing socializing has changed dramatically.  While there won’t be any day parties, street festivals or roof deck bars this year, I’m still looking forward to getting outside. Since social distancing is now the new norm I’ve had change how I approach my Summer activities.   One thing that won’t be changing is my love of easy, comfortable Summer staples like this Catherines sleeveless dress. This dress easily can go from outdoor brunch to a social distancing date in the back yard or front porch. I’ve actually worn this dress  for a social distance happy hour with my girlfriends with a belt and white sandals. For the pool it easily went over my bathing suit with some cute flip flops.  Add a bold color or printed face mask with the dress for a fun look. Honestly this dress has  been my go to for quick runs to Dairy Queen with my friends just to enjoy the Summer night.   It’s the perfect dress for all your social distancing events this Summer!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Spring Uniform With Catherines

Happy First Day of Spring y’all!

Now that Spring has officially arrived  Catherine’s  relaxed pants and easy denim have become my go to for outings.  These pull on cargo pants are perfect for Spring. I’ve been looking for a pair of olive green pants and I hit the jackpot with these. I wore them all day long and I can attest they are so comfortable.  If you’re in the market for a lightweight denim jacket this Spring, I highly recommend this chambray number. It can fold easily into your cross body bag during warm days and perfect for chilly Spring evenings. Don’t be surprised if you see me wearing this outfit again over and over again!

On a side note, I understand these are scary and unprecedented times we are living in. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t experienced anxiety  regarding  recent events but I know this too shall pass. I have faith we will bask in the Spring sun and reconnect physically with our loved ones.  So take care, wash your hands, stay inside and be kind to one another.

Have a wonderful day!

March Transition: Sweater + Midi Combo

Happy Tuesday all!

The month of March is typically known as a month of transition. The most obvious one being the change over from Winter to Spring. As we navigate this transition, dressing for the weather can be down right frustrating. How do you dress for cold mornings and mild afternoons? Well I’m here to help! For the month of March I will be highlighting some outfits that will help with the weather change.  I’ll be focusing on how to utilize items you already have in your closet so you don’t have to spend a dime.

First up is one of my favorite transition combinations…sweater and midi skirt combo. The best thing about this combo is that you can use your favorite warm weather skirt and pair it with a lightweight or turtleneck sweater.  Layer a denim jacket over your combo for added warmth under your coat in the AM.  This way you can ditch the coat during the mild afternoon without breaking a sweat!

What are some of your favorite transitional dressing combinations? Let me know what you would like to see this March.

Have a wonderful day!

Spring Ahead

Happy Hump Day all!

To say I’ve been enjoying the mild weather this Winter is an understatement.  As someone who suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder,  Winter is the bane of my existence. I hate every single thing about Winter, especially snow.  For the past couple of years, Winter has shifted and started to become more milder.   I don’t know if this is due to global warming, poor weather forecasting or God having pity on the Northeast but I’m here for it!

Obviously the mild weather and bright sunshine has put me in a Spring mood.  All I want to wear are pastels and bright color combinations.   I already have a laundry list of stuff I want to do this Spring.  Philadelphia really comes alive in the Spring  with festivals, concerts and street fairs to keep me busy all season long.

But until Spring arrives, I will be basking in the not so cold Winter sun!

Have a wonderful day!
