Free Yourself

Happy Hump Day all!

Last Summer I decided to stop wearing shape wear and Spanx under my skirts and dresses.  The primary reason I wore shape wear in the Summer was to combat painful thigh rub (aka chub rub).  After years of constricting myself during ridiculously hot Summer days, I couldn’t take it anymore.   While I was frustrated I worried I wouldn’t be able to find a product to stop my chub rub.  Nevertheless I was committed to find a solution. After trying  Bandelettes, Mega Babe and Monistat Chafe Relief Powder Gel , I found Monistat to be the best product for me.  I liked that I only had to reapply it once during the day and it didn’t lose its effectiveness when I would sweat.  It was such a relief to be able to wear skirts and dresses without worrying about chub rub.  Dont get me wrong, I still wear shape wear/Spanx if necessary but having the option to go without is very liberating.

How do you combat chub rub in the Summer?

Have a good day!

Haha I just don’t wear dresses or skirts!! On the rare occasion I wear a dress, I tend to chuck on a pair of shorty leggings (If that’s what you might call them… kinda like leggings that are the length of short shorts). When I was a kid I thought it was hilarious that “fat ladies wore bike pants” to stop their thighs rubbing.. well, I’m now one of those “fat ladies who needs to wear bike pants”.. lol

I know some young women who wear shorts under dresses all the time for another reason entirely,: up-skirt cameras. Yup, we still live in the dark ages, unfortunately.

Skimmies by Jockey! Those things have changed my life, seriously. They come in two lengths, shorter and then longer ones that come almost to the knee. They are spandex but do NOT constrict like Spanx (which I cannot stand, no matter what the weather!). Different colors and sizes are available and they are not prohibitively expensive. I wear them under dresses in the warm weather and sometimes I even wear them over my panty hose to deal with slippage issues (nothing worse than the crotch of your hosiery sliding down to your knees LOL).
