“Bat Legs” & Me

TGIF all!

When I was little my mom would say I had “bat legs”; full legs that taper down to small ankles. As silly as it sounds, for years I was very self conscious about my ankles.  I always felt awkward having a big body and tiny ankles.   For years I would wear black ankle boots with black tights to try and camouflage them.  I had convinced myself that my ankles were too small to wear  booties without tights.   After years of agonizing about my ankles, I’ve decided to let it go.  No amount of hand wringing is going to make my ankles bigger.  So instead of obsessing about how my legs look in ankle boots, I’m just going to wear them and keep it moving.  Besides I highly doubt anyone cares about my “bat legs”!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Very interesting that you should mention your ankles. I think my ankles, well. my legs actually, are my best feature. I love the way I have curvy legs that willow down to a small ankle. My husband says it’s sexy! You have sexy legs too! Happy Friday!!

You look fantastic, dear! Beautiful outfit, and beautiful ankles! Lots of women dream to have such ankles. 🙂

Oh man! I’ve got bat legs with slim ankles also and have never been ashamed of them. Its weird how we agonize over different parts of our body. Now at 65 Ive developed a ‘top’ belly which Ive never had before menopause. So my advice, screw it! Nobody else cares anyway. LOL

Bat legs? That’s a new one. If you had thick ankles, then someone would be saying you had cankles. FGS, nobody picks men’s bodies apart, piece by piece. Some people control others by diminishing them. Get up, stand up. Stand up for your rights.

It’s funny how we can fixate on things like that! When I was in high school I thought my butt was too big!! My husband thinks it’s PERFECT. And if you can believe it, the shape of your legs is part of what drew me to your blog (mainly it was the C-O-L-O-R!!!) — I love how it looks when you wear outfits that taper to your dainty ankles. I just think it’s a lovely shape. Go figure!

Lucky you, with such neat, fine ankles. I have always wanted small ankles, not my thick ankles that look as though I have no ankles at all. I agree with what Evelynne says!

I have (bat legs) too. Always had a big body and small legs. I’m not happy about it but ….I also don’t dwell on it anymore. We are all part of GODS perfect plan. Simply put “beautiful”.
