GCGme, Boobs & Getting Over It

TGIF all!

I’ve teamed up with GCGme again to bring you their latest collection of dresses for the Fall.  GCGme offers very cute and affordable dresses for variety of occasions.  I especially think their dresses are great for going out with your girls or for date night.  GCGme dresses are sexy and fun which we should be allowed to be. As older women  we often receive societal messages that being or feeling sexy after 40 is some crazy abboration. The expectation is that once we hit 40  we are supposed to become more modest which is code for “not sexy”.  This belief is then solidified by people chiding women for dressing “too young” or “not for our age” (whatever the hell that means).   Then on top of that we get those “what not to wear after 40” articles that hammer home every negative stereotype about aging. With these messages, it can be seriously hard to continue to feel sexy or desirable as we age.  I know I struggle with feeling sexy at 44.  This was evident  when I put on this dress and saw the amount of cleavage I was displaying.  I was like “OMG MY BOOBS ARE SHOWING!”.  I instantly  thought of putting a tank  top on to cover up  but I stopped myself.  I realized I was buying into these crazy “rules” for older women by being scared to bare a little (ok A LOT!) of cleavage.  Me showing off my bosom doesn’t make me any less intelligent or respectable than the next woman. It means it’s okay to express the sexy side of ourselves regardless of age. So the next time someone tries to come at you about the age appropriateness of your dress, tell them what Jessica from Warning: Curves Ahead  said, “I can wear whatever the f**k I want!”

GCGme is graciously offering 20% off your purchase with code “growncurvy20” until 10/31/16.  So go get your sexy on with GCGme!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wow! Gorgeous dress and gorgeous on you. I never would have thought you were in your 40s, not that there’s anything wrong with that, I turned 50 this year.

That dress! That handbag! The jewelry and the shoes! I love how you always put an entire outfit together so beautifully. The dress looks just lovely on you.

You wear this dress better than the model at GCGme’s website – and your words were very uplifting this morning. I am 44 also and find myself struggling with stereotypes. I bought this dress, and if it looks any where as good on me as it does you, I’ll be wearing it for my upcoming birthday dinner!

I was thinking the same thing that smiller2327 was thinking. Your curves and girls make this dress look so much better on you than the model on the website. As long as you are comfortable and feel good, wear it.

You are so phenomenal! I absolutely believe everyone should say f*ck it and wear what makes them feel good! You continue to inspire me as you SLAY.

You look stunning in that dress!

Yes! Wear what you want, and definitely show some skin! That’s one of the fun parts of being a woman, is playing with how much to reveal vs. how much to keep hidden.

Oh my goodness, Georgette, you look freaking A-M-A-Z-I-N-G in this dress. I actually did not notice your boobs right away because I was so distracted by the dress itself and how great the lines look (the way the sleeve looks like it’s part of the bodice?), as well as the jewelry and bag you paired it with. Just a great outfit all around. And your boobs look great too!

I am also 44, and weirdly, just NOW becoming comfortable with displaying a little cleavage. I figure I’m old enough now, I’m allowed! 😉

I haven’t heard of CGC. I’m excited to take a look at the site. I have been looking for maxi dresses in my size- hopefully they have a nice selection! 🙂

Gorgeous dress on you! I would describe the way you look as sensual – and it is true not just for this outfit, but in general there is a sensual energy about you, which to me is more sophisticated than “sexy”.
