First Annual TCF Style Expo!

Happy Monday all!

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of attending the first annual TCF Style Expo in Atlanta, GA. The expo was created by Marie Denee of the hugely popular blog The Curvy Fashionista.  Her TCFStyle hashtag celebrates plus size fashion so she wanted to bring it to life with this event

“I have long wanted to do an event that made my blog come to life- giving you an all-inclusive plus size fashion experience! I am talking shopping, sipping, learning, and having an all-day event that celebrated YOU!” -Marie Denee

When I heard about the event, I knew I wanted to be apart of it.  Luckily for me, Marie was gracious enough to allow me to participate in the event by moderating the “Empowerment Through Fashion” panel.  This was  my FIRST time moderating a panel and I was super nervous.  Luckily for me I had four wonderful women who made my job so easy!  My panel included Keke Simpson motivational speaker & wife of hip hop legend Chubb Rock), Debra Antney mother of rapper Waka Flocka Flame & VH1’s  Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Sabrina Severance from Lifetime’s  Big Women: Big Love and Yuneisia Harris from TLC’s Curvy Brides and Curvaceous Couture.  These women shared their wisdom and advice how to empower yourself through fashion with the audience.  Their message for the audience was clear and simple “Love yourself no matter what!”

Marie definitely accomplished her goal of creating an all-inclusive fashion experience for plus size women.  Plus size designers such as Lane Bryant, Cool Gal Blue and Ashley Stewart were present to help women shop til they dropped.  Magnolia Makeup was there to help attendees  bring out their inner beauty with their gorgeous pallet of colors.  Ultraviolet Nail Lounge  pampered attendees nails to give them a knock out color.   Marie also included  Curvaceous Couture (the first designer bridal boutique that caters to plus size women)  for curvy brides in attendance to look and try on wedding dresses in a positive and accepting environment.

If you couldn’t go to the event this year, don’t fret! The TCF Style Expo will be back next year so start planning now!

Have a wonderful day!
